OontZ Angle 3 Pro Gen 2 Bluetooth Speaker, 21W, 15-Hour Playtime, IPX7

The app makes it easy to control the EQ and speaker modes (Stereo together [One speaker = Left Channel, other speaker = Right Channel] or Independently). Easy to control the volumes of each speaker separately if used independently. I recently used the 2 Angle Pro speakers in stereo in a 8,000 square foot yard with about 25 people and got rave reviews about the performance. People approached me asking what kind of system I was running and how much it costs. They were impressed with the sound quality and price. In the past I'd use the bulky Ion Block Rocker speaker, but it was too loud for the people too close to the speaker in order to reach the people at the other end of the yard. Because I had two Angle 3 Pro speakers (compared to 1 10 inch speaker), I was able to reach more ears at a lower volume (75%) making it easier for people to talk to each other while still enjoying the ambient music. The sound imaging when used in stereo mode is excellent. I used the speakers for about 5 hours at 75% volume and the battery was at 60% at the end of the night. Its not loud enough host a dance party, but would suffice for backyard barbecues, pool parties, or family outings. I don't believe you can find a better set of pairable Bluetooth speakers for this price.

I bought the smallest version of this speaker (OontZ Angle 3) a few weeks ago. I wasn't expecting much for $22. I purchased it on a whim and thought it would come in handy working outside. It turned out to be so small (my mistake for not looking for the size- 5.25" x 2.6") I almost shipped it back as a return. But it was built so well ( by Cambridge Soundworks, a company who I had been happy with in the past) and I was impressed with it's features. At 10 watts it wasn't quite loud enough or have enough bass for what I was looking for in a smallish bluetooth speaker but for the price I decided it was worth keeping. Being so impressed with the build I looked further and found this–it's big brother: the OontZ Angle 3 Pro. Close to $70 but capable of 21 watts and much better bass and louder volume. I love it! It is like having a boombox to carry around to different work areas (or out in the fields or woods if that is where the work - or relaxation- is). It is still small and convenient but more than double the size of the small one. I have held off on a mono speaker for several years being a stereo fanatic but the sound is surprisingly good to my ears and if I want stereo I can buy a second one and link them together for two channels.

UPDATE: Upon side-by-side comparison with the Doss Soundbox XL - the Doss won by a landslide. Almost identical price, cleaner sound, more power, much better bass response, zero clipping. I didn't need portability or for it to be waterproof, so the OontZ was returned. FWIW, my thoughts on this unit are still mostly valid. (2/17/2021) I chose this speaker for a combination of its ratings and price and claims to have sound quality rivaling much higher priced units. It arrived today and I immediately sent it a serious test of capacity, sound, clarity and bass with the newly-released metal album from Durbin, The Beast Awakens (which is awesome, by the way and plays as I write this). I replaced an older Bose Soundlink Mini which I've loved for many years. My initial thoughts and opinions: 1. The speaker had zero charge when unboxed and is still charging, more than 4 hours later. So in went the plug and I set to pairing my iPhone 12 Pro Max with almost no problems although it was as if the two had to get used to each other before they paired and stayed paired. That said, I did have one drop when open/closing another app on the phone. We'll see how the battery does when I take it from room to room in the future. 2. Output definitely needs tweaking for optimum sound IMHO. I initially tested many native iOS EQ presets, none of which were really perfect. I installed the OontZ app and was very disappointed to see only bass and treble adjustments in 5 increments each (this app could be MUCH better...). However, after much trial and error I did end up leaving a combination of those two as my default when I finally hit upon the setup that made me look at the speaker and think... "ok, maybe you can stay..." 3. Comparison... I went back and forth between the OontZ and my Bose - which is physically much smaller than the OontZ. Clarity is actually fairly similar - which was a relief because I was afraid it was going to be muddy. The OontZ out-basses the Bose by a significant margin and for the most part was clean. Midrange wasn't brash or irritating, and like the highs, was pretty clear. 4. Volume. Well, a bit disappointed here, but perhaps it's all one can expect for the size (and price). It was a tad more powerful than the Bose (again, an older Soundlink Mini) but there is clipping and distortion at higher volumes that for me is unlistenable. I can't quite get 100 dB out of it before it gets ugly, but fairly close. Again, probably reasonable enough for size/price. 5. Musical flexibility. I listen to a LOT of audiobooks, and the OontZ performed well with the spoken word. Back to the iOS EQ and classical was crisp and clean. Pop was... well, typical pop. ;-) Traditional Celtic music, choral, African, acoustic, blues, (and metal!)... the whole library was fairly well-reproduced. 6. This is intended for indoor, generally stationary use, so I haven't mentioned or tested water resistance. My Conclusion. This is a decent little unit with good power and mostly clean sound, especially considering its price tag. It's not my ex's Meridian system, but I didn't have to spend $10k, either. ;-) Especially when you remember you're playing .aac and .mp3 files, not CDs or vinyl, it works fine and I'm enjoying the listening experience without having spent too much money.

In 1996 I bought my first speakers from Cambridge- two satellites and. Subwoofer. They served me very, very well for just over 26 years. I was glad to be able to experience their work again with this lil’ Bluetooth speaker, and Cambridge still has “it”. First most, the sound quality is really nice considering it’s such a small package. Surprisingly deep bass, nice crisp highs. I got it to take to the beach since it was made to be used around water, it says “waterproof” but I’m not going to hedge my bets on that. It’s been splashed, rained on and no sign of any malfunction whatsoever. This unit charges quickly, like in 30 mins and it will play for *hours* with no sign of being drained. On a full charge, I streamed 2 entire LP albums at the beach a few days ago, loudly, and again no sign of slowing down. Oh- you can buy two and set it up to play in stereo if you want. I think that’s cool af. It’s easy to operate and smartly follows existing protocols in its’ use. It’s built very well, a solid little tank of a speaker. I recently notice that, if placed on a solid flat surface ( a table, a countertop) that it has 4 little rubber feet that are like shock absorbers and raise it 1/4” off the surface to provide better sound quality. Oh- it’s really light weight too. So, yeah, I definitely recommend this Cambridge Soundworks Bluetooth speaker.

Sometime last year I picked up a cheap little 1080p projector to use at parties and such. It's just sat in its case since Halloween, but not long ago I was thinking that I could use that little thing in the basement against the wall and it would be a pretty decent little home theater setup. The only problem? There's no way to set up a receiver and/or a complicated audio setup down there. We can't have wires running across the floor and it's certainly not worth using raceways or something like that to hide it when I'd still have to hide a receiver somewhere and the wires that connect to that. I found out that FireTV sticks allow bluetooth audio out, and that two of these speakers can be joined together for wireless bluetooth stereo. I figured it was worth a shot, so I ordered two of these speakers. The setup works great! When we're not watching a movie, I store them in a cabinet where they can charge, and the projector goes in a closet. It allows us to keep the basement neat and clean but then to be able to throw up a film when we want. The sound quality out of these speakers is pretty amazing. I've been a fan of CSW for many many years. They put out MORE than enough sound to fill the basement. I took off one star for sound quality because there is no EQ function at all for them and while their bass is impressive for their size, an external connection for a sub channel would really help these guys out. For that reason I only gave them four stars, but that is really a pretty small gripe when you consider what these things can do by themselves. I highly recommend this product, but if deep bass is very important to you, you may want to look elsewhere.

Years ago i had what i believe to be the first Angle model made. I loved it, until it was stolen from me. When i decided it was time for a new BT speaker of good quality, this was a very easy choice for me. I could drone on about all the greatness but I'll spare you the time and effort. I love it and it's very much so worth it. I have one gripe and one gripe only. I dig the sound quality, BUT this thing could be a 100% knock out of the park perfect product imo if they just added a tweeter between the two speakers. Bass is great for its size, mid range is well pronounced, but it just leaves such an empty desire in the higher frequency range. Enough to knock off one star for sound quality. I'd pay more for an audiophile version, or if they just added it into the pro.

I purchased this unit to replace my older Creative Bluetooth speaker that was similar in shape and size. That one unfortunately died one day. So while searching for replacements, I saw this unit, and its bigger brother. Thought I would give this unit a go as it had a bit lower price point, was touted to have great battery life, and boasted a decent wattage number. Initially I was very impressed. Great sound, no distortion. But there are a few quirks that I can't wrap my head around, as I am admittedly picky when it comes to how things reproduce sound. So, here are my primary issues with this unit: 1: Aux input. This speaker (as did its predecessor) is used for two functions. First it serves as an enhancement to my PC sound, as normally the 144Hz monitor speakers quite frankly suck. I also use it as a portable unit with my cell phone or iPod. When using it in Aux, it works very well producing sound and sound impressively better than my previous Creative unit, it lacks in one VERY annoying detail. It shuts down the input if the sound gets too quiet. So you get a quiet moment in a song, or a subtle moment in a movie or show, or especially if playing a game that you rely on being able to hear an enemy near you, and the sound goes completely dead. Then suddenly if the source has an increase in volume the speaker "pops" back on. I say "pops" because it goes from dead silent to suddenly back on (as if you used mute to turn the sound off and back on), rather than simply playing along, quiet and louder parts alike. For me this is EXTREMELY annoying to deal with and is making me seriously consider getting a different unit. 2: Bluetooth and Aux volume. As for my second issue, this one is not nearly as bad, but it has to do with use of volume control. Personally I would rather be able to increase the volume and have it be steady, finding that peak where it doesn't start to distort the audio, but still sounds impressive. Well, you cannot do that with these. It is virtually impossible to distort the audio with sheer volume. While this is a great idea, its execution is based on the internal amp reducing volume of parts of the song in order to achieve it. What results is what I call pulsating music that gets louder and quieter depending on what the unit is doing to prevent distortion. So now I have to balance the audio volume in such a way that prevents that feature from kicking in, and while I applaud the idea, frankly the reality of it leaves a bit to be desired. This usually results in the volume being lower to sound "even" whereas louder it causes frankly a different kind of distortion. Those of you out there that have more of a tin ear or think the audio on your cell phone speaker is good enough, then this thing will blow your mind. But those of you with the desire for a really good sound quality speaker may want to think twice. Price does matter. I have yet to see a really good quality blue tooth speaker for less than 100 bucks that lives up to its hype. All that said, it IS a very well constructed speaker. It is heavy, feels solid. It lasts a long time on battery. It will auto shut-off if on battery and doing nothing, and will stay on if plugged into a charger. I just wish it was a wee bit better. Thanks for your time in reading. UPDATE: I have now been using this for the past 2 years off an on. I no longer use it for an Aux connected device, as that drove me insane with its inability to maintain the sound at lower input volumes. However I still use it as a bluetooth speaker with a few different devices. And I built a "booster" box to help the lower frequency spectrum. Essentially its a vertical wooden closed box being used as a stand with a slot cut in the top that you can position the passive subwoofer of this speaker over it. Dramatically increases the sound quality and depth of the speaker. Does nothing for the higher volume issues, but at least it sounds better. Other than that, my review still stands. Its good, its holding up, but its not awesome. But for many of you it will probably be fine.

I had an older Oontz Angle speaker that I received as a gift. I wore that one out, so I upgraded and purchased the OontZ Angle 3 Pro. It's about half again as large, but it is a 'sound machine'! Great sound quality and solid as a rock.

Me encanto la calidad de sonido que emite esta bocina, ya he comprado los 3 modelos menores y me han dejado gratamente satisfecho, pero quería comprar la más grande y al igual que sus hermanas menores entrega una gran cálida de sonido con un sonido redondo y bien equilibrado y prácticamente cero distorsión aún a máximo volumen, además de tener una sorprendente autonomía de batería donde la he usado por 7 horas a máximo volumen sin problemas, comprare una segunda para ponerlas en estéreo.

USB C charging. Solid bluetooth performance. Well positioned controls unlike the other Oontz models and many other bluetooth speakers.

I use the Bluetooth Speaker daily. Quite disappointed that it has no bass at all. Sound quality from mid-range to highs is acceptable.
