Pixel 3 owner here: get this one
Pixel 3 owner here, so if you care about that specific phone, read on: So, big question, does this "fast wireless charge" the phone? Answer: It won't display the "fast" part, but my tests show me that I am getting the 10w speeds. [EDIT/UPDATE: I found why I was having inconsistent results, heat. I have it mounted in the windshield and it's summertime, I found both the device and the phone quite warm while it was having trouble charging quickly. I directed one of my vents at it with cold AC, I now get 1200mah charging rate consistently. I left the original review below but wanted to add this.] Full answer: I bought this because I have worn out my USB C port. I get in and out of my car a lot for a second job, and use GPS frequently. I needed something that could keep up the charge with GPS and screen running, but Google hampered their own device by going with some proprietary standard instead of the normal. I've been waiting nearly 2 years for a cheaper wireless charge device, but they disappointed me. Suddenly, and without fan-faire, this exact brand shows up on the Google store, and even more so it's claiming 10w charge ability. Looking at the specs of the Google stand, it says the same rate. Great, finally a less expensive option. But in reading reviews here, it's all over the place on if it fast charges or not. I took a chance. And I'm slightly confused by the end of my testing. But, the bottom line, most of the time I'm charging at about a 1000mah rate using Ampere to measure. But sometimes it measures much lower, even lower than 500mah. And sometimes the percentage of my phone battery display doesn't make sense with either of them. Let me explain: I've connected it, had it indicate wireless charging, and in this example it was at 86% already. Ampere reported 120mah. The lock screen told me it was going to take 47 minutes to reach full charge. I didn't touch it, just let it run, but with the screen off so I couldn't see Ampere. Then it steadily ticked upwards on percentage and down on time. Suddenly it was at 88% and 36 minutes to full charge, but it had been only 2 minutes. Then it was at 89% and 109 min to full charge, then 90 with 15 min to full charge. Once in a long while, it'll say charging, but still tick down while in use or stay steady while idle. Taking it off the mount and putting it back on results in much faster charging. Most times I can start it charging, and it will charge at a rate of about 7% in 10 minutes of driving with the screen off. That puts it on par with the fast wireless charger by Google. I don't know why I see the inconsistency, however I can state that this regularly pushes better than any other wireless charger I've tried that's not made by Google. The few moments of oddity, and that it won't say fast-charge, are strange for sure, but I'm blaming Google on that one more than this product. My educated guess is that Google pushed some update which allows some chargers to put out similar charge to their proprietary wireless charger, but don't want to make a big deal about it since it was a bad choice to begin with. The non-google Pixel 3 stuff: - It's an excellent windshield mount, utterly unmovable without a lot of dedicated force. - The one-hand clamp works fine, although I wish it didn't snap shut like it does. - The included charger works fine, the extra port is low power but work ok for smaller devices like bluetooth headsets.

Fix for the micro-USB port
This is overall a nice wireless charger. My wife has had some problems with the phone overheating and stopping charging with her Samsung S9 but I have had few problems with this with my Samsung S10. My main problem is that the micro-USB plug only fits halfway into the socket. And I don't notice that it's come out a bit and my phone battery is draining instead of charging. Hope they will change the micro-USB plug on the next version so it goes all the way into the socket. I kludged a bit of a fix by wrapping some 1/4 inch (6 mm) electrical tape around the black plastic part of the micros USB plug 15 times, extending a bit over the metal part of the micro-USB plug that won't fit into the micro-USB socket. This allows the now-thicker plastic part of the plug to fit firmly into the plastic surrounding the micro-USB socket and helps prevent it from wiggling loose. UPDATE: I upgraded this to a five-star review. My kludge didn't work very well, so I contacted the iOttie's tech support. It was one of the best tech support experiences I have ever had. The sent me a new unit. I left my existing mount on the windshield, and plugged in the new USB plug. It hasn't come out since. Very satisfied with this mount. ***Update: the above was for the prior non-Qi version without the automatic clamp. I have the original five stars, the automatic clamping version one star, and the Qi fast wireless charging version of this five stars. Amazon thinks that I am reviewing the non-Qi original version, whatever, they both get five stars. I found that the original non-Qi version would basically power the phone but not charge it while using Google Maps with the screen on all the time, as I often do. This version will slowly charge – it charged 9% in about two hours on the road. But unlike the original, my phone didn't overheat and reboot. The Qi protocol must be more careful about overheating. I did find that if I plugged a fast-charging USB C cable into the bottom, attached to an Anker PowerIQ 3 car charger, it did in fact charge pretty quickly. I will use the wireless charging around town, which at least keeps the battery from being depleted, and plug the USB cable in the bottom on long trips.

Solid solution for Samsung S21 Ultra
I take frequent long (2+) hour car drives and use my phone for navigation, audiobook playback, music, etc. so being able to charge is important. I also wanted a wireless charger because my phone has been acting up with some of the USB cables I've used. Mount quality is solid. I needed to drive on my first day having the mount, so I attached it to the dash, and stuck the phone in. I noticed that after ~15m the leverage of the phone weight was causing the pad to become un-stuck, so I took my phone out and let it sit the rest of the day and overnight for the adhesive to set. I've been using it daily since then with no issues. Not blocking vents or driver view was important to me. With the multiple adjustment points for the arm and holder I have no issues with making the phone screen (for map navigation, for example) be in my line of sight while driving without having to glance towards vents or other screens. Release mechanism takes a bit of getting used to but now I've got the hang of it and can one-hand release while I'm getting out of the car--the phone doesn't fall out due to the 'feet,' making it a nice plus that I don't have to worry about catching the phone before it falls out. The only improvement I could imagine is faster wireless charging, but that's not a fault of the product. Assuming the adhesive continues to stick I don't anticipate needing a new mount, and wireless charging is make agnostic, so I don't have to worry about stashing lightning as well as USB-C cables in the car.

Still going strong after five years
I had this car out for over five years and it did a great job. It is still working just fine, but I decided to upgrade.I have had several products from this company and they have all been very good. I would continue to buy products from them.

love it - perfect so far
Hello all. So...I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max, and it's *just* horsey enough now to not fit in spaces well (cupholders, for instance). And I've always wanted some kind of phone mount and have never been motivated enough to actually take the time to find the right one, etc. I first tried a couple of different ones from a big box store, you know...hey, it's right there, let's just try it...and they were both terrible. One was basically a cupholder plug with a mast coming out of it, and the other was a 'stick this in the air vent' joint and I thought they both sucked, flimsy, unsteady, junk. Both returned. This iOttie thing, thus far, it's really near perfect, I love it. I feel fancy now. I kid, but only a little. The suction cup mount has held perfectly over a week of driving and railroad tracks and bumps, and I have the arm extended all the way out, and down, so it's exerting pretty decent leverage on the suction cup with the phone mounted and weighing it down. You can easily adjust the mount it to hit the wireless sweet spot on the phone perfectly. Push the phone onto it, and a little button on the back pad releases the side grabbers which hold the phone snug, whether vertically, or if you turn it horizontally. Then to release, you grab a couple of other little side levers of sorts and they push the grabber bars out again and lock open for the next time you mount it. I really was only interested in the 'hold this thing up for me' aspect of it, just to have maps running while going to my many work destinations, but the wireless charging thing is fantastic. Also, the lighter socket plug has its own USB port, so in other words, you can plug this in and charge the phone and still plug another device into that plug. Which I haven't (yet) done. Maybe I'll come back cursing if the suction cup fails me and the thing goes flying, but as I said, so far, perfect, tight, all good. I have a Highlander Hybrid Limited, the dash is not super smooth but certainly not bumpy, and it does have a little bit of a convex hump, and a little fiddling around with the right spot, as I said, produced a tight connection. One small note: this thing came with basically a little hard plastic disk, a mounting plate, with the idea being that I suppose you could mount that first, and then take the suction cup off and on again as you wish, or maybe switch cars or locations...I don't know. Anyway, that thing had almost zero adhesive on it and fell off immediately, so I just don't use it. I'd say buy this with confidence and it wasn't a lot of money.

Use the included items and this works great
I had another iottie phone mount for years and it finally broke from constant use. I thought I'd try out the wireless charger version so I don't have to plug and unplug my phone every time. My biggest worry was about removing the dashboard mount from my old holder that had stuck nicely over the years. Turns out iottie must use the same ball joint mount for all or most of their cradles because all I had to do was unscrew and remove the broken cradle and screw on the new cradle and I was finished in about 30 seconds. And I didn't have to mess at all with my dashboard mount. That was a nice relief. I plugged my old charger cable into the back of the iottie and attached my phone and it did indeed charge. But it didn't fast charge my Galaxy phone. So I swapped out my USB power adapter and cable for the one that came with the iottie and low and behold it fast charges now. Another win. I noticed that during long drives the back of my phone gets very warm. I suppose that's the nature of wireless charging and not necessarily an issue with the iottie, but I have to be sure not to direct my car heat vents onto the phone, and every now and then blow some cold air onto the phone. Overall I am very happy with this unit. Installation was a snap and if you use the included items, it fast charges the phone. I have no complaints at all. I hope this one lasts as long as my previous iottie did.

Weak charging
I bought because it said it had fast wireless charging but it charged slower then using a USB from my car. I used it for a trip where I drove 2.5 hours my battery went from 70% to 77% in an hour and then dropped to 72%. Also the plug didn't fit well in my 2018 accord I had to push it in extremely hard to get it to turn on other plugs worked the shape of this plug made it difficult. The good thing about this phone holder is it's a solid phone holder it sticks well to the windshield. So if you need one get the one that doesn't have wireless charging.

Surprisingly good build quality and easy one hand operation.
I've had this for four days so far, but I've been on the road a lot, and I am very happy so far. I actually bought two versions: one with the suction cup mount for my car, and one with the CD slot/vent clamp for my work truck. I've gotta say, they work well. The build quality is actually very good. Wireless works as expected (10 watt charge rate - see below). The one handed feature is VERY nice. My old mount required me to use two hands. This one you can place and remove the phone with one hand and it's quite securely locked in. In my photo, you can see a button in the center of the mount. When you put the phone in the mount, it presses against that button, and that triggers a spring mechanism that clamps the phone. To release the phone, you squeeze the buttons sticking out on either side, which also re-arms the spring mechanism. Very quick and simple to use. The suction cup, which is usually flimsy on these things, feels very thick and robust. How well it holds up in hot Florida summers will take time to tell, but I bought another, non-wireless version of this mount, as a spare for the RV and also to steal the suction cup arm off it if needed. If you notice in my photo below, I have the mount resting on the dash. People always complain about the suction cup giving out. Well if the phone is unsupported, and it just bounces around at every bump in the road, that arm is going to act like a lever and pry it off. I opted to attach the mount to the window so I don't discolor the dash, but it can be used on the dash. There's also a disc included with that strong 3m double stick tape (the tape they use on Go Pro mounts) that you can use on dashes with rough textures: you stick the disc to the dash and then attach the suction cup to the disc. The vent clip mount actually works well and is what I used on the work truck. I generally don't like using a vent clip, but this one grabs really tight, and the truck has some beefy vent slats. The CD mount, which at first I was skeptical about, actually works very well if you bother to read the instructions (which I didn't at first) and realize there's a lever on the bottom that you need to turn to lock it into the slot tightly. The CD slot mount wasn't really practical on any of my cars as it would block the entertainment center display, but a good idea for an older car with a more traditional radio. The charge rate is not very fast - it's 10 watts, which is enough to keep the phone up. But if the phone was nearly dead and I needed a fast recharge, I have a high speed plug-in charger in the glove box. That charge rate is pretty standard for car wireless chargers, and the Pixel 6 only supports up to 15 watts wireless charging on 3rd party chargers. Only Google's proprietary wireless charger runs at the higher 23+ watts. ------- Followup 8/3/22: I had to stop using the wireless charging feature because it interferes with the Bluetooth between my phone and the car entertainment system. I can't say this is a problem with the charger as I've Googled the issue and not found any known issues with wireless chargers and BT except for iPhones in a few rare cases (I'm using a Pixel 6), so it may be the entertainment system in my car (2012 Lincoln) that's sensitive to it. BT works but while playing a podcast or music, the pause button will come on and off on it's own, repeatedly. I can actually see the pause indicator on the entertainment system display coming on and off, so I know it's not an audio issue. Disconnecting power from the charger makes it go away. I tried raising the charger higher off the dash and it didn't help. Moving it to the left of the steering wheel seemed to help, but that's not a comfortable location for me. So just a head's up, if your BT playback is acting up, try disabling the charger. I actually switched the unit out for the non-wireless charging version I bought as a spare, and I'm using the wireless charger in my 2013 Yukon with no problem. I do love the cradle itself. It's a very good design, and the one handed operation of placing the phone in the cradle and removing it make this well worth it. Pity I can't use the charger in my car though.
