for Osmo Action Microphone 3.5mm/USB-C Adapter,Charging Audio Adapter Audio External 3.5mm Mic Mount for TRS Plug

Well I decided to move from Gopro to Osmo Action cameras, as in my experience I have had all sorts of issues with external mics on Gopro cameras, they just do not work, so I took a chance and purchased this mic adapter for the action camera, and it worked flawless with the purple panda lav mic, and what was surprising that it came as a genuine Cynova adapter in genuine packaging at almost half the price of ordering the genuine item, so save some money and try this one out.

I bought this along with and to use on a DJI Osmo Action Camera. I immediately updated the firmware for the camera so the audio adapter worked fine straight away. It is not stereo though will accept TRS type audio jack's. I tried wiring up two mics into a TRS jack for my helmet but found that it wouldn't work in stereo which brings me to the conclusion that it is mono only. However, it doesn't claim to be stereo capable so I should probably have read the spec sheet first before doing the work. It does work perfectly well as a mono set up, using one mic wired into the same TRS jack, which is what I am using at the moment. So, mic wise any mono or TRS will work (mono) but TRRS will not. I use SENA mics for my helmet set up hence the need wire them into a 3.3mm jack as they use a different connection. I have tried other mics with varying results Neewer, Purple Panda, gaming boom mics etc etc but the SENA mics work best in the set up I use. In conclusion, it works with the latest firmware but only in mono. It is much more compact than the GoPro brick. You can attach a powerbank/external power source and still record footage thereby extending battery life. Cheap, but appears to be the the same Cynova item, packaging is Cynova and appears identical. Why pay more for the same thing (assuming it is not a cheap (illegal) copy?!

This little adapter arrived the day after Id ordered it . I set up the new camera-plugged in the adaptor to the cams micro usb slot and inserted a microphone into the 3.5 jack . It works perfectly and gives much clearer sound that the cameras own sound recorder . Wondeful as ever Amazon.

So far, one star, because I cannot give it zero. This did not worn with DJI Osmo Pocket. I have latest firmware. I tried with TRS and TRRS adapters. Microphone works well with other devices and adapters also work with other devices but not with this one. Unit does charge the camera of a charging source is connected to it. Few other things I noticed were: camera heats up even without filming when this is connected to it, battery runs out a lot quicker even without a phone connected and without filming, camera won’t turn on fully if this adapter is connected to it before turning it on. To me it seems like the item has some short circuit inside. One other thing is that there is no QC label on the box and judging by the extremely lower price than the originally advertised Cynova it could be that these are QC failures which went to the market instead of being destroyed. Anyhow, I am returning mine and unfortunately I will have to make do without external microphone for the time being as I need to keep camera connected to be able to use it to transmit live sessions.

I wanted to use my Rhode stereo mic, and this is working fine. I use with the Linghuang Vlogging Cold Shoe Mounting (branded Ulanzi) a perfect combination for me.

Whilst it fits perfect on the osmo action 4 once you have the camera in the housing to use on chin mount, bike mount etc the adapter won’t fit and therefore is of no use with a microphone for vlogging. Worse case scenario I will need to file down the housing to make it fit perfectly so I can use it

Is in fact the Cynova adaptor[comes in plush Cynova branded box] but curiously almost half the price of that Cynova sold elsewhere on Amazon...works well [make sure mic is fully pushed in]....need to use a TRS mic....the one with the two black bands on the jack....Rode or Rode compatible mics work with it.

Works well, unlike another one I ordered from another site. C connector fits but if you are moving around fast I think the adaptor will fall out from the C socket as there is a very slight wobble when connected.
