The Plot Against the President: The True Story of How Congressman Devin Nunes Uncovered the Biggest Political Scandal in U.S. History [Smith, Lee] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. The Plot Against the President: The True Story of How Congressman Devin Nunes Uncovered the Biggest Political Scandal in U.S. History Review: Factual and Well Documented Account - I rarely read political books, but this one I took a chance on. The book is well written, thoroughly documented, and not difficult to read. It does the job journalists once did. It does not get deep into opinion, as some authors whom I like but cannot read. I do not want opinion, just the facts. This book succeeds well, although there are some irrefutable facts, such as there was a plot by a Democratic administration using a Democrat--funded dossier to spy on a Republican presidential candidate--Trump. Lee takes the reader through the plot in chronological order. He uses actual investigators like Kash Patel and Rep Nunes to expose the plot. 17 federal--top level officials--such as Comey, Ohr, Strzok, and McCabe, etc.-- were fired, yet only one was prosecuted, and he got probation. Had Hillary won, as she had been predicted to, we would not know anything of this plot even today. The Steele Dossier was paid for by the Democrats and Clinton. It is the reason for the FISA warrants, yet not one witness before congress testified that they knew of any collusion. It "is not an intelligence product. it is a fiction," (Smith). Moreover, the Mueller prosecution after two years found no collusion between Russian and the Trump campaign. The FBI committed 17 grievous errors in the FISA warrants. Exculpatory evidence was also withheld from FISA court. Steele lied to the FBI in his dossier and could provide no proof of his allegations, but he told them what they wanted to hear--"allegations from a dark dream world." Justice #2 Ohr's wife worked for the Fusion GPS team building the political opposition research, gave this to her husband, and he fed it to the FBI. It is like the FBI was part of the Democrat Party. They certainly did their work for the them. Smith does an excellent job showing the real "collusion" of many leaks of classified intelligence to the mainstream media. They printed Steele's unsubstantiated allegations, the Dept of Justice used this as an excuse to prosecute, and media printed this, in a circular win/win. More than two years of Trump/Russian collusion turned out to be a hoax. Crimes were committed such as lying to the FBI and Congress by Steele, Comey, both Ohrs, and others, according to the HPSCI investigation. In the end credibility of the FBI and Justice Departments and the mainstream media have been wrecked. Trust in media is at the lowest point ever. This book explains just one reason: two years of Trump/Russian touted as legitimate without any evidence. The "rot" at the top of the FBI and Justice Depts put trust in them at the lowest level since Waco. Neither has apologized to America for the 2 1/2 years of false information slandering the elected President Trump, Carter Page, and others. Review: Fascinating look at behind-the-scenes of how the Russian-collusion narrative was derailed. - As someone who is fairly apolitical, I found this book absolutely fascinating. Lee Smith’s book is well-written, easy to read, and flows nicely. Although I read it slowly over a few days to absorb his thoughts and research, the book held my attention and was an “enjoyable read”. A few comments for other readers and/or Lee Smith. 1. Superb summary statement: “For the US media, the collusion narrative is an extinction-level event.” Kudos to Lee Smith! Having listened to countless bombshells, turning points, and beginnings of the ends, there is no conclusive evidence of collusion by the Trump campaign. My generation was brought up in the days of Cronkite to trust the media. It will be interesting to see how (if?) the media will recover. Russiagate changes one’s basic trust and interpretation of the news. Perhaps that’s a good thing. 2. Very nice of Lee Smith to give such well-deserved credit to Devin Nunes. I remember when Mr Nunes was referred for ethics violation; I thought at the time it might stop him. Kudos to one man who kept going and made a difference. By praising Nunes, Smith shows he has integrity and depth of character. 3. 1st question for Mr. Smith: if after 3 years and 30 million dollars there is no evidence that the Trump campaign colluded, conspired, or coordinated with Russia, why was Trump charged (investigated) in the first place? What was the predicate, and who is Joseph Mifsud? 4. 2nd question. Is this really the 1st time this has happened? Lee Smith purposefully steered clear of making any comparisons where he could be accused of “conspiracy theories”. But is this really the first time the intel and media ran an op against a politician? 5. 3rd question. Why now? Was this a perfect storm one off? Was this a true historical juncture where opposing economic philosophies (eg globalism vs national productivity) raised the stakes such that all these risks were worth taking? The actors knew the stakes...Lisa Page’s text that she was afraid (it) could ‘go off the rails’ (paraphrase). Peoples’ lives have been destroyed. Why take such risks? 6. Last question. Can this happen again? Good book, enjoyable read. Will await more research with an open mind: the truth always lies somewhere in between.

Fascinating look at behind-the-scenes of how the Russian-collusion narrative was derailed.

How Obama and Clinton orchestrated corruption to deliver a coup d’tate. How mainstream media can no longer be trusted and how Fake News is used to frame innocent people fuelled from leaks the DOJ, FBI, CIA and Special Counsels. The despicable self-serving role of the Democratic Party in all of this is damning. Trump is spot on calling out Fake News and their operatives. It’s amazing that so many Americans have fallen in love with the narrative. When Trump got elected by millions of ordinary Joe Americans it is clear that the criminals orchestrating these demeanours are no longer in the majority. It also explains why Trump never stops campaigning and users Twitter to by-pass the Fake News MSM. Brilliant piece of legal investigation uncovering the truth.

The more I read, the more horrified I became about the coordination amongst heads of the CIA, FBI and Intelligence agencies with several noted media entities like CNN, the Washington Post and The New York Times to spread falsehoods about Trump and his campaign team to try to make him unelectable and, when that failed, to remove him from office. I now understand why the Durham undertaking has gone from an inquiry to a criminal investigation.

As a non American difficult book to follow as it's a collection of short disconnected excepts from interviews. Nevertheless lucid parts on the state of the intelligence community, media and justice system in the US and how they have developed since Watergate. Thus the title. But probably fits most other countries if not also big organisations. Interesting for socology and Organisation Behavour perhaps.
