Excellent value for the money.
5th November 2025 This IC Extractor worked an absolute treat, I removed the IC EPROMs in seconds with this tool. 5 stars for workmanship and cost effectiveness.

Wish I'd checked the reviews properly
Very disappointed with this. In the photos it looks like a good quality metal tool but in real life it's just cheap "chromed" plastic like you get in plastic kit models. Almost no weight to it and feels cheap. As mentioned elsewhere it's no good for extracting chips from a dense board - it needs lots of room at the top and bottom of the chips to get the large pincers in. Great in theory but almost useless in practice and way overpriced for a plastic item. Ho hum, you live and learn.

Not as good as original
Broke 2nd use. Original from late 70's and early 80's was better. Not worth the money asking.

Saw a few youtubers give these chip pullers glowing reviews, and figured I'd give them a shot. They do what they're designed for, and they do it well: beats the heck out of awkwardly prying at stiff sockets with a tiny screwdriver in the hopes of levering an old and crusty IC up. Basically never bends a pin if you come at the chip straight-on. Probably paid for itself with the amount of time it's saved me by now. It's also just fun to see peoples' faces when I ask them to grab my Jonards.

Overall works very well as expected. Only exception would be any chips that have the Pin 1 indicator notch that goes through the entire thickness of the chip, because the puller grabs onto the sides as part of it's method of lifting. Admittedly very few chips have this issue, but it is something to be aware of before trying to pull the chip
