Ductless Mini Split System charging vacuum port adapter This adapter, or the equivalent Yellow Jacket 19173, is mandatory for all Pioneer mini-split systems and others with 5/16" SAE service ports. Attach this adapter using grooved pliers to tighten and thus prevent leaks, but don't over-tighten. I.e., hand tightening might leak. You can then attach 1/4" flare fitting hoses available from Yellow Jacket and others, and use a manifold set or other gauges. Before using this adapter, check to see if the Schrader valve depressor was factory installed at the female end as some apparently are shipped without them – which renders it useless. I used this adapter for a new Pioneer mini-split install to vacuum the system and it worked as designed – hence the 5 star review. Customer Photos show the adapter in use. Had a poor performing Mini Split system after 6 years of use. Used this system with some refrigerant and stop leak to get the system back up and running. The system cooling was working just fine, but wouldn't heat during the winter. It is now working perfectly.

It worked fine. Needed the adapter to pull vacume on a pioneer mini split. Not sure why it doesn’t come with the heat pump. They give you everything else but this adapter which they go out of their way to say you need.

Bought and installed a mini-split. My hoses wouldn't fit?!?!?! Turns out the new ones have a new standard - you'll need this little guy to adapt your vacuum hose - easy peasy. Don't waste money on the more expensive ones - this little guy works perfectly!

Exactly what I needed. Had a mini split installed in my garage, but the vacuum guage hoses used for the typical residential AC units are a different size than what is needed on the mini-split condenser. This adapter is all you need, and I ordered it so my HVAC tech could finish the install. This is for Pioneer products, but I have a Mr.Cool unit and it works just fine (same size connecter, which by the sounds of it is the standard for most mini's)

Allows you to use an inexpensive 3 way (typically automotive a/c) manifold gauge set to install a mini-split. You need to draw down the line set to a vacuum - this adapter fits the mini-split standard fitting and reduces the size to mate with the low pressure (blue) line of your gauges. Hook up your vacuum pump, watch the compound gauge go low to about 30 inches. and wait. No leaks? You did well. Can't test without the adapter.

I wasn't sure that I needed this added purchase but am glad I bought it. It was used by the tech who installed my mini-split to pull a vacuum. Since he probably had access to one it may have not been 100% needed but if you are going to self-install it's a good quality charging port.

Glad I bought these. I have used them quite a lot this summer and they have worked very well. If you do a lot of ductless split systems then I would recommend this as a must have.
