Restricted Blend

Love this dog food. My Frenchie got very sick, kept vomiting and very runny diarrhea. She seemed so sad, tired, and unwell. But I couldn't afford to take her to the vet at the time. Heard good things about bland food, gave it a shot, I was desperate. I fasted her for about 12 hrs, then gave her 3/4 a can of this food twice a day, mixed up with about a cup of water, mashed it until it was baby food consistency, and mixed it with pumpkin powder. It was a LIFE SAVER!! She was back to normal within four to five days. She loved the food, too! She can be a little picky but she scarfed this right on down. It was such a relief. I highly recommend this brand! I love that it has vitamins in it too, sick pups need vitamins and minerals. Such good value too. I will ALWAYS keep some of this dog food on hand from now on! I have a large-breed mix rescue puppy that has really struggled with belly issues he came in with - giardia that he couldn't clear, worms, and reflux. It's been rough trying to find something that didn't give or worsen his diarrhea and vomiting that he also liked to eat - a sore belly meant he got really picky about his food. This bland diet has been exactly what he needed. He eats it up just as quickly as he did his previous favorite food, and it really seems to keep his stomach settled. I put his antacid pill in it and I don't need anything else to hide it - he just scarfs it up. I feed it along with dry puppy food and he's happy and growing like he's supposed to be. If this didn't work, my next step would have been homemade meals, which with his age and size would be a huge investment of time and money, so I am very grateful to have this as an option. If your pup has a delicate digestive system, it's worth a try.

Wow, incredible, the missing link, a Godsend. If I could thank Dave personally, I would tell him that his life’s work, creating his Bland Diet and other special “restricted diet” dog food formulas, has indeed been a gift to the world. My 12 year-old Rottweiler, Raji, has come a long way. A rescue dog from The Animal League of Green Valley south of Tucson, he was one year-old when we adopted him and brought him home to join our 6 year-old Boxer mix, Dharma. Raji loves the desert and was my wife’s daily companion for 7 years, patrolling a 3,000 acre Mesquite Bosque that my wife managed for The Nature Conservancy in Arizona. He has walked 1,000’s of miles in his position and has stayed healthy and strong. Raji has been on a Victor grain-free kibble diet mixed with a bit of high-quality canned meat and raw meats occasionally. Only in the last 2 years did he begin having digestive issues that caused him to vomit and not be able to get the proper nutrition that he needed. We did some research and read how older dogs needed more quality protein and decided to eliminate the kibble and give have much more canned meat. It worked for a while without any issues until he reached 11 years-old and then just couldn’t keep any canned dog food in his gut. Blood work at the vet showed that his liver and kidneys were healthy, and the good doctor summarized that it was his stomach and digestive system that was slowly failing. Pepcid and other meds were tried, and we also switched from Blue to Canidae to see if one was more effective than the other. Sadly, neither one corrected his stomach issues. We did find that a “Maze” bowl, that causes a dog to lick out his food slowly rather than “Scarf and Barf”, was extremely helpful, however it still did not do the job. If he ate more than ½ can in one session, he vomited. I did some deep research online concerning a “bland diet” and fortunately found Dave’s Restricted Bland Diet. I watched his short intro video explaining his philosophy and desire to help dogs stay healthy and was impressed by his honesty and caring attitude. Needless to say, I ordered a case immediately and began Raji’s new diet. It took a few days of only Dave’s Bland Diet and Raji began eating more and keeping it all down. And it was loud enough to keep me awake at night since his bed is in the same room. Worse, it was a loud prelude to the coming volcanic eruption of white bile or whatever it truly was. This is one of the few foods my 15.5 yro Havanese can tolerate nowadays. Her tummy gets more sensitive the older she gets and a lot of kibbles make her sick. She enjoys eating this food and it DOESN’T make her vomit or have diarrhea. It’s a staple in this household.

The best dog food ever

This is the best. My baby was down. Tried to eat but nothing stayed on her stomach and her stool was not normal. I tried two different foods in hoping to get her better. Took her to the vet and they gave her an injection which did not help. I searched amazon for a couple days reading the labels on Bland dog food and thought I would try Daves, Chicken and Rice. To my surprise my Chi-Chi tried it, and it stayed on her stomach and within a couple of days I saw a difference. Her food stayed on her stomach, and she was feeling active. My Chi-Chi loves this food. I highly recommend Daves Bland Dog food. Thank you, Dave!
