I have 4 of them. Works well no issues. Only thing I wish it had duel hooks so it wouldn't tip side to side on fence line.

Back today to order a third one. This perfectly fits an entire spool of polywire. I’m guessing the people saying it does are using rope, not wire. Yes it’s heavy, but it’s also durable. I have horses and use electric fence tape to set up and move temporary enclosures all around my property for better management of pasture. I was really excited to receive a pair of these, though they seemed a little expensive. Pros: they are well made and seem to hold up even when I have to leave them out in the rain. Also, as long as you hold them by the handle, they're fairly well balanced. Cons: they only hold half of the capacity advertised. Maybe if I could wind them as well as a robot-driven machine in a factory I could get more on the reel, but that's not the setting they're made for. They're made for people like me who load them up while walking across a field and unroll them the same way. And don't ever let the spool get too full or you'll be fighting to get the wire or tape off the side handle spool thing. Also, for me, it gets kind of heavy when full, but there's nothing to be done about that. I wish someone would make one like a garden hose reel that you could pull along.

I used to re-roll and deploy my fence rope on the drum it came with. Not only would it unspool from the ends it would underwrap and tangle. This makes the chore much easier and faster as well.

Not geared, so obviously creates more winding, but the simplicity and hardiness is hard to beat.

I keep this reel in the horse trailer with the electric fencing on it. Overall satisfied with this reel. One item to mention is the clip "ratchet" for one way tightening can be tricky to "unclip" as it wants to close. I hold carefully open with my finger.
