Great product, cuts the "wind-in-your-face" factor significantly & cuts afternoon sun/glare too! But...read the review.
Hi, I have a 2007 FJ and I never use the A/C. I just keep the windows open a couple of inches but when the windows are open more than that in a FJ you typically get blasted by the "wind-in-your-face" factor. After reading about these ventvisors and asking another FJ owner about them I thought I'd give them a try and WOW! What a huge difference. I really like these alot! These cut the wind-in-your-face factor significantly! Yes, you still get some wind but the window's open, what do you expect, right? Installing these ventvisors makes a huge difference and makes driving with the windows down much more enjoyable. PLUS what I wasn't expecting was the reduction of glare at sunset. The plastic is tinted and reduces the glare/brightness at the top edge of the window. This is especially helpful late in the afternoon in traffic, it's a great added bonus. I do not notice any additional wind noise as other reviews stated could occur, but my radio is on 99% of the time. BUT! ONE small PROBLEM... The edge of one of the ventvisors was not cut perfectly straight at the factory. Is this a big problem? No, not for the typical person but when I test fitted the plastic ventvisor you could see that the edge did not line up straight with the top of the window frame and knowing me, this would bug. So I used a big flat metal file and "smoothed" down the not so straight edge. I lined up the edge I filed with the flat surface of my desk, checked for unevenness, checked it with the FJ window frame, took my time and filed accordingly. In total this took about 30 minutes, not necessary but now it aligns up much better. NOTE: Do not remove the protective plastic covering until you are 100% read to install these. This protective cover will keep them from getting scratched up. In all, I am very satisfied with this product!

Excellent addition to FJ
Super easy to install and looks great on the FJ! Has withstood 80+ speeds, 100+ temps, and flooding rains. As another reviewer stated, I found it easiest to install starting with the bottom corner and working up and over. Line it up visually with how you want it BEFORE you peel to reveal the adhesive. Packaged well and arrived perfectly intact. Came with plenty of alcohol pads to clean the surface before applying.

Great Fit and look for my 2007 FJ!
Received the package and was able to easily extract the parts from the shrink wrap to cardboard packaging. From there, it was a matter of cleaning the area where they were to be mounted with the included alcohol pads which were more than sufficient for the area needed. I then removed the backing off of the adhesive. They do not make that part easy for people without long nails as I ended up employing a knife tip to pop up a corner of the film covering the adhesive tape enough to get my short-nailed meat claws attached to the tape to be able to pull it off. Patience prevailed as I was able to extricate the film along two edges of the guard and then press applied it into place. One word of advice for anyone new to this, it may serve you well to fit up the guard and make a small mark with a magic marker once you feel you have it in place so that you do not miss align the guard upon actual installation. I am here to tell you that once this little guy's adhesive strip touches the cleaned door frame, it has some amazing adhesion. I had my daughter hold the guard up (much to her dismay) while I stepped back and looked at it to make sure it looked aligned and located properly. If you do not have offspring or a "friend" to aide you, I might suggest some blue painters masking tape to temporarily hold the guard in place. As silly as that sounds, it could make all the different in how you feel about the positioning of the guard before being literally stuck with it. <drum roll> Just my two cents worth. In the end, I am VERY pleased with this purchase and will update if there are any changes as time passes.

Nice and simple addition.
Very easy to install, it does the job, and looks good. I installed it exactly along the door frame rather than what some others may have done. Even with the visor up higher, I can still open my window substantially and have enough air flow when needed. To each his own after all. I do agree that you may want to lightly sand the edges a bit. I sliced my finger right open running it near the top of the door while washing my car.

Allows you to drive with the windows down!
I ordered these ventvisors for the same reason all FJ drivers do, to help cut down the torrent of wind that occurs when driving with the windows down. The product arrived quickly and was easy to install. They are flimsy and scratch super easy, but for the price point that doesn't seem unfair. Yes these allow you drive with windows down a smidge during the rain or allow you leave your windows slightly open when parked on a hot day. But more importantly for FJ drivers they allow you drive with the windows down without having your ear drums blown out by the torrent of wind that blows in and sandblasts the side of your face off. These actually allow you to drive 60 mph with the windows down comfortably. I ordered the stick on ventvisors after reading reviews complaining the in track visors would not allow window to seal properly when rolled up. The only thing I can knock these on is the there is an added wind noise from these when driving with the windows up. It is similar to the wind noise you hear hitting the vertical windshield or the roof rack. Not a big deal, since the FJ has the aerodynamics of a brick and poor sound insulation, it just mixes in the road noise, wind noise from windshield/roof rack and hum of mud tires. Turning the radio up louder seems to correct the problem all around. Pros: 1. very economical compared to in track ventvisors 2. allow you drive highway speeds comfortably with windows down 3. Can leave windows cracked open when driving in rain or parked on hot days 4. easy to install 5. delivered quickly Cons: 1. ventvisors in general look kind of ugly on vehicles (like putting chrome or bug deflectors on a vehicle) 2. very flimsy and scratch easy, but to be expected for price point, not wanting to spend $50 bucks for set I was fine with this 3. adds some noise from wind hitting them when driving with windows up, not noticed with windows down. Also no worse than wind/road noise already present in the FJ. Overall I would purchase again and refer to a friend. When installing they do not lay flat against the window. The easiest way to dry fit them to determine exactly how you want to mount them before removing cover on tape. Then take the protective cover off the tape all the way around. start at bottom near mirror and attach the way you want up to top of the window. The attach the long end towards rear of vehicle to the position that you want. The long part in between the end (towards rear of vehicle) and top corner (towards front of vehicle) will be bowed out, just push it down flat and the tape will hold it down.

Good fit
I first bought a pair of these made by a different manufacturer (canโt remember the name) and they eventually pull loose because they donโt wrap to the vertical contour of my FJ doors. So theyโre always under tension. I replaced those with these AVS shades and theyโre a perfect fit. I highly recommend them.

Works as expected on my 2007 FJ Crusier
They look great. I was debating between getting these with the adhesive and goes on the outside and another brand that are popular, but they actually go in-between your window and the window seal with adhesion, but I am glad I decided on these. They were easy to install, come with alcohol wipes so you can clean the area before applying and after 2 weeks of having them I have had 0 issues with them or any peeling. Looks great and I can now leave my windows cracked during the summer without fear of rain or something getting in.

Stick-on and Inchannel Ventvisors
Stick-on and In-channel Ventvisors. I just purchased and installed my second set of ventvisors on my 2012 Toyota FJ Cruiser, Trails Team. The first pair was in-channel ventvisors on my 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser. Aesthetically, the in-channel ventvisors looked better than the stick-on type; but I experienced more road noise because they didnโt seal as well as the OEM window seal. On the 2012 FJ, I opted for the stick-on ventvisors. I mounted these high rather than leaving a gap between the top of the doors and the top of the ventvisors, as a previous reviewer had done. I do agree that, when installed lower, it does look better, but only where it adheres to the frame in front of the mirror. However, after driving my 2007 FJ for 7 years, with the similar lower in-channel installation, I rather have another inch of clear glass than looking through an inch the less clear plastic. Time will tell how the stick-on ones perform in the long-term; but I expect they'll perform very well. I am very satisfied with both products, but the manufacturer could add another inch or so to the vertical portion of the ventvisors to please everyone. JCRBME.

Fit good
No issues with them so far. They hold up decent on the trail too. I put a small crack into mine but looking back at the trail Iโm surprised it didnโt rip off.

Excellent product
Perfect fit for my FJ Cruiser. Take the time clean area before install. They have survived many automatic car washes. Plus the rain no longer gets me soaked when the window is cracked open.
