Pentair R172086 1/2-Inch Control Valve Replacement Rainbow Automatic Chlorine/Bromine Pool and Spa Feeder

I bought this item because I could not stop the flow of water into the in-line chlorine feeder even when I turned it to 0. I replaced the valve and I still couldn’t stop the water by shutting off the valve. There is a check valve (Pentair R172248) under the plastic screen at the bottom of the feeder. I replaced that check valve and the plastic screen (Pentair R172255) and now it works perfectly. My original shut-off valve was probably still working but this one is working good now. There is also a screw in the bottom of the feeder under the valve that needs to be loosened before unscrewing the feeder body.

It is an exact replacement. For those that say they crack when installed this part is a tool less installation. All you need is Teflon tape and your hands. You don't need to get on there with both feet. It adjusts smoothly and better than the original that was installed.

Terrible product . It broke on installation because it is not actually a pentair part i think. Very Low quality. I am now out 50 dollars and still need to find a new dial.

Product is a perfect replacement of the original. Always buy name brands so you won't have to do the labor twice.

This replaced the original, probably 30 years old. The old one was hard to turn and I was worried there wasn’t enough flow. The new one is great. Turns easily. I’m now running it at a lower level. Easily replaced the old one.

Have bought 6 of these valves and every single one of them developed a crack in them. Do not buy.

Cheaply made, never worked! When we contacted this company for a refund they snarkily told us it wasn’t possible that they didn’t work! I told them I expected more professionalism and for them to stand behind their products. It is clear by their lack of customer satisfaction that they don’t care about their customers or the quality of their products. $117.13 for 2 pieces of plastic that don’t work! We’ve ordered thousands of products from Amazon and this is the 1st time we’ve had to write a bad review, very disappointed.
