I fried these two chicken thighs a very short while ago (within the last hour or so)and they were delicious! While I've only been oil frying for a short time (a few months - I started late in life!), I've tried a few different approaches to frying. I've used my own seasoned flour mix, I've used this mix with corn flake crumbs (a la Gordon Ramsay), and they're all good. This breading mix by itself, however, is excellent. It is quick, it is perfectly seasoned, and it is delicious. A couple quick notes... Let your chicken come up to nearly room temperature. Bread your chicken as per the instructions on the package. Let your chicken sit while you heat the oil. Then cook. Your oil doesn't need to be deep; 1/4 inch or 7mm is probably sufficient to cook thighs, drum sticks, and thin sliced chicken breasts. Would I recommend this? I just reordered this product, along with the desertcart Peanut Oil in the background of the photo, sitting next to the House Autry product, so yes, I'd highly recommend it. Frying isn't difficult. If you've never done it, watch videos on frying chicken. There's actually a House Autry video with the title, "How to cook delicious, easy, traditional Southern fried chicken" that shows you how to do this right. There's nothing quite like fried chicken, especially if you make it yourself. Enjoy! It does have powdered chicken bullion added in and gives it excellent flavor especially with fried chicken, pork or minute or cubed steaks. One of the best packaged breading on the market today!
I love this breeder for chicken, minute steaks, cubed steaks, and anything else that's breaded and fried. Chicken Batter
I really like this batter because I personally do not have to add anything with it. No added seasonings, nothing. Just clean and dry my chicken, put the batter and chicken in a zip lock give it a few sakes, the n drop it in the oil. Fries up perfectly.
