Just received, but so far very pleased!
I've been looking at purchasing a new radio for a long time as my now pensionable, but much loved and used Roberts radio has reached its sell-by date. I wanted a radio that I could recharge and carry around with me without having to worry about replacing a Lancaster bomb load of batteries, had a good battery life and excellent sound quality.I've only had it for one day, and its been an absolute joy! I put it on charge immediately upon receipt and it took about two hours to indicate fully charged and ready to rock. I then did a scan to find the DAB radio stations and it came up with about 96 of them in a few seconds. I chose the four I wanted and loaded them as presets, which was really easy to do and switching between the preset stations is simplicity itself.Initially I found sound quality to be a bit 'fluffy', but playing around with the on-board equalizer made an astonishing difference to both voice and music quality - I'm genuinely impressed and unless you have the hearing sensitivity of a pipistrelle bat, I don't think you'll be disappointed!Battery life is given as around 10 hours. I'm not sure what that's based on, but I've had this radio running for 5 hours now at 1/3rd volume (which is plenty for me) and it hasn't dropped one bar in available power. For a sub £70.00 radio I think this is a fabulous buy. Perhaps I'll give another review after 6 months of continued use and see if I think differently. I hope not!EDIT.So I'm now almost 2 years into ownership and I'm still very happy with this radio. I use it at home and at work and take it into the garden with a glass of wine to listen to radio 4 and watch the sun set. The fact that this radio is rechargeable has been so important to me as I can take it anywhere and not worry about needing the mains unit. The battery life is fine. I run my radio at 4 bars on the volume scale which is plenty for normal room use and it runs for a good 8 hours before shutting off and requiring a re-charge. Increasing the volume does reduce the battery life which is no surprise. The price has dropped by about a tenner since my original purchase so I might buy another and have one at work and one at home.

Another 'sound' product from Azatom
Several of our favourite DAB stations have moved to DAB+, condemning our trusty old Roberts radio to history. Looked around and saw this Azatom which meets our needs - lightweight and portable for kitchen and garden use, battery powered. I have an earlier Azatom Stealth Air 2A Bluetooth speaker (very loud for a relatively small item) which is still giving excellent service in my workshop. Pleased to say this little radio appears to be of similar quality, given the limitations of DAB broadcasts - the signals are NOT hifi to start with, so any radio can only reproduce the input given.Up and running without minutes out of the box - simple operation and quick to seek signals.Sound quality: there's very good detail, meaty bass, and quite a bright sound, The stereo field is limited by the compact size. At very low volume some DJ's voices sibilants are hissy , however as above, I put this down to broadcast bit rate as spoken word through Bluetooth is fine.Haven't bothered with alarm settings, so won't comment on those, and no issue with screen brightness. Looks great - slightly retro charm to it. Battery life already proven at over 9 hours continuous use. Very pleased.

Good VFM DAB+ future proofed portable radio sounds good, plenty of volume available
I previously had an early wood framed Pure Tempus DAB Radio which has lasted well over 20 years, but recently gave up the ghost and was diagnosed as not repairable.I was looking for something affordable, less than £100, that has a reasonable amount of oomph, not a tinny sound. I also wanted it portable, and this radio includes an in built battery pack. I want to be able to move it round the house, and sometimes take it out in the garden to listen to where I am working or relaxing.Alterative Pure radios are good but expensive, and a battery pack is also an extra almost £40, so excellent quality, probably superior build quality, but double the cost.I had not heard of Azatom as a brand before, British designed, but manufactured in China. I went for the larger twin speaker stereo model. The sound is good, no rattling case at full volume. The instruction manual is not the best, you have to work your way through reading around the information then trying things out. The case is wood around the sides, the front white finish looks a bit cheaper and may mark, the carrying strap is flexible faux leather. The display screen at low setting is a bit bright for the bedroom, and maybe a bit too dim on a bright sunny day. Tuning in initially was quick and straightforward. and it was already partly charged, but completed to full charge quickly. For less than £70 including the rechargeable in built battery with good volume, and a decent sound quality, it seemed the best available set on offer, and so far so good after a few days use.The only concern is from some other reviewers where the radio has stopped working or developed problems just a few months after purchase, so fingers crossed that longer reliability and durability will be OK. Only time will tell, not quite as classy as the Pure alternatives, but equally a great deal cheaper, I hope it will be money well spent. If I run into any issues I will return to update this review. At present I am delighted with this purchase.

Excellent Value For Money
I've had this radio for a couple of days now so I can't comment on longevity but I'm mightily impressed, not only by the sound quality which is exceptional for a portable radio, but also the reception of DAB. I am on the South Coast and on scanning the radio it picked up 150 stations which is exceptional. Many of the stations were duplicated because not only was I receiving all my local stations from Brighton, but also the Hampshire, Surrey and London multiplexes even though I am well outside the coverage area of those multiplexes. Sound quality is excellent with bass and treble controls and great stereo imaging from the dual speakers and no vibrations from the wooden cabinet, which is infinitely preferable to a cheap plastic one. You can spend 4 times this amount on a DAB radio and you won't get anything better than the Azatom. It does everything you could possibly want and then some, especially as you can also Bluetooth audio from your phone or TV to the unit and use it as a soundbar to increase the sound quality from your TV. Altogether a first class buy, I would give it 6 stars if I could, it really is that good. The video above shows this radio receiving a French station Qui FM which demonstrates the reception and audio quality of this super radio. Other videos can be seen on YouTube by searching for DAB+ Tropo from France Belgium and Netherlands using Azatom Multiplex D2.IMPORTANT UPDATE: I don't know if people realise it but every time you turn the radio on the equaliser resets to the default setting and not to the settings chosen for bass and treble. There's a quick fix, turn the radio on then off and then back on again and you'll hear immediately the bass and treble kick in. It's obviously a software fault that needs fixing but turning the radio on twice is the way to get round it.

Cracking value for money.
Bought this radio to replace a Pure radio that has been playing up almost since I bought it.This radio fits the bill perfectly. We get a good reception even in a poor reception area, it has a built in battery for portability which is a plus, the stereo sound even at high volume is consistent with very little or no distortion. It’s compact enough to place anywhere in the house, we have ours in the kitchen, and is very nice to look at.I managed to Bluetooth my iPhone with my music to it with no hassle at all however it Wes discoverable as a D1 instead of the D2 model, I assume this is just a software anomaly from their previous models. All in all for the price paid I’m very pleased with this product and would recommend it as a first buy or a replacement product.

Not worth £10 let alone £60!
I really would not recommend wasting your money, this is not worth £60, however, good points first. Well the good thing is that the sound quality is good. However, the various buttons do not do what the manual says, or at least sometimes they do and sometimes they don’t, so finding stations sometimes works and other times didn’t, setting presets, likewise and then it lost them when the set was switched off. I could not register the product as the ‘captcha’ graphics were too difficult but on the third attempt I got some you could identify and then every time the firm send me an email to confirm registration, the ‘confirm email’ link would not work, so I can’t register the product. Maybe the buttons are ‘settling down’ and yesterday I managed to sort several presets, but even so, sometimes the preset button brings up ‘preset recall’ and sometimes it doesn’t. I would not have been surprised at this if it was a cheap radio, but this costs £60! If it were not for the current virus situation, I would be sending it back, but I cannot access packaging to do this and do not want to use our local post office as it is in a very small shop and you cannot keep 2 metres away from people. Oh, and yes, I did contact the firm to say the buttons were not behaving as per the instructions and no, they did not get back to me.

An Absolute Beast of a Radio
Recently bought a Multiplex D2 - which is an absolute beast of a DAB+ Radio. Duel Stereo speakers thrusting out 30watts of sound ! Crystal clear sound with the added bonus of an equaliser to annoy your neighbours just that little bit more. A swathe of available pre-sets for both FM & DAB stations. Bluetooth, USB Charging ( So you can charge your phones etc) Aux In ( not that you'll ever use that) and over 10 Hours of battery life. This is the Margot Robbie of DAB radios. Sleek, built well, loud and sassy and looks great anywhere in your home !
