This Californication vinyl is so good! The sound is rich and warm, and hearing these classic Red Hot Chili Peppers tracks on vinyl makes them feel even more alive. I love flipping through the album and soaking in the artwork while I listen. Honestly, it makes listening to music feel like a little immersive experience — total nostalgia and joy in every track! 🎶✨💖

RHCP really find the perfect balance between, for lack of a better term, "raunchy rockers" and "slow songs." Their biggest hit up to this point was "Under the Bridge," a slow song. Fans really responded to how evocative and emotional it was. And the band was very up to being very musical and lyrical. So in CALIFORNICATION, the biggest hits are again the "slow" songs, such as "Scar Tissue," "Otherside," and the title tune. These are all great songs, with lyrics that don't really make sense, but nonetheless conjur interesting images and evoke a mood. Anthony Kiedis's singing is the strongest and most emotional its been up to this point (although that improves on their next album, BY THE WAY). Yet the album also rocks. "All Around the World" got the most radio play, and it really gets the album off to a strong, rocking start. It shows the band at its jammin', noise-making best, and features plenty of "raunchy" material. Later, we can enjoy such "raunchy" tunes as "Get on Top," "I Like Dirt" (a personal favorite) and "Purple Glove." There are other great songs in both genre's, and the final feeling one is left with is of spending a great hour with one of the great rock bands out there, capable of handling any style and making it their own. All the musicianship is outstanding. These guys just get better and better as purveyors of their instruments. Each album shows positive evolution, which is great, and oh so rare. The standout, as always, is Flea. His bass-playing is simply incredible. He puts almost everyone out there to utter and complete shame. If you can only own one RHCP album...this is THE ONE!!

Great Quality and Selection The CDs arrived in excellent condition with no scratches or playback issues. Each one played clearly and delivered great sound quality. The selection offered exactly what I was looking for, and it's always a plus to have physical copies for collection and reliable playback. Whether for casual listening or adding to a music library, these CDs were a great buy. Very satisfied with the overall purchase.

As usual, I purchased this via Amazon Prime, it is not showing up in my music, it is so difficult to get anything done in the music app anymore. I like the album, I hate the platform. It is the worst platform you can actually use ever. You pay for music that you can never access.

I’ve included a video just after opening this new album. It’s warped a little which is no huge deal as long as it plays but as you can clearly see it skips a lot. It continued for two songs which on both side is almost the entire first vinyl. Such a bummer. I’d return it but it’s always such a hassle.

Nothing to dislike if you like this band.

I doubt I need to review this record to you, do I? It’s an incredible record. What I can tell you is, watch for it to go on sale here. This was a key lp on my list to buy. But there are so many great records to own, I try to wait until I find it on sale. I eventually found this here for a great price. Don’t get me wrong, this record is worth paying a stupid price for. But if you have some patience, you won’t have to.

Gutes Album

Viene bien protegido, gran álbum y calidad de sonido.

Notez bien qu'il y a une chanson en plus des 15 pistes indiquées correspondant à l'édition originale CD (piste 16 - Gong Li, 3 min 43 - premières paroles : Some people say you hate me, I don't believe it's true...). Sur l'album : culte. C'est le virage populaire des Red Hots, mais il y a encore du gros son et énormément d'âme. Sur la présentation : aucun problème, même si je ne lis pas le japonais. En plus de la pochette cartonnée et de la pochette papier, il y a un mini poster et un livret de 10 pages en japonais, avec la track-list en anglais en page 1. L'étiquette du CD est ordinaire (pas d'imitation vinyle, en anglais). Sur le son HD : formidable dès les premières secondes. Rien que la basse, on dirait qu'elle est là en vrai, et elle dégage. Pour ceux qui connaissent seulement le son CD, tout le son est déployé dans l'espace comme pour de la 3D avec une très grande profondeur de champ sonore - tous les instruments et toutes les voix se distinguent très facilement, en particulier on entend très, très bien les effets et tous les détails fins du jeu des guitaristes. Enfin on a l'impression que le chanteur chante en live dans votre salon. Attention au volume parce que la dynamique est très spectaculaire par rapport au CD.
