Garmin Quick Release Lanyard

I've never been a lanyard person. But with a 7 mos old mini Daschsund, a cane, a water bottle (I dehydrate and pass out) pee treats, poopy treats and a clean up bag, 2 hands are never enough. Great product, well made. I use it to carry the remote for my dog training collar.

I did a quick pull test for my point-and-shoot camera, and it worked well.

To prevent the lost of the remote in case the quick release failed, I put a cable tie around both parts.

After losing an expensive EDC knife I've been using this lanyard, keeping it attached to my belt. Works well. Unsure about durability for daily use. If it lasts a year I'll be happy.

Great lanyard, sturdy, great length. I used it for a smart key and it works great. Breakaway a little too stiff and reason for the lost star.

Nice lanyard. The safety breakaway connector is nice and strong. I was worried about it being too easy to come open with the weight of a GPS receiver hanging on it, but it is very secure. It's definitely not coming open unless it needs to. I did have to tighten up the knots on the small cord. They looked like they could come loose. No big deal though, and easy to do.

Well made and has the ability to extend or reduce the length so it is adjustable to fit the owners preference. No more dropped hand held controller.

Another just what I needed item. The lanyard rope is heavy duty. Not like some of the badge ID lanyards that are basically shoelaces. The quick release is a simple plastic buckle but is very useful. So far, no issues with anything.

When I ordered the Garmin Quick Release Lanyard, I thought - what a lot of money for a string! But, I am impressed with the quality of this Garmin 'string'. It is strong and gives me the confidence that my Garmin accessories with remain securely with me.

Die Verwunderung war groß, als mein bestelltes Garmin eTrex 20x eintraf, und der Lieferumfang ohne jegliche Art von Trageschlaufe, Kordel oder sonstige Haltemöglichkeit war. Ich weiß nicht, was Garmin sich dabei denkt, solch ein teueres Gerät zu produzieren, und dann ohne solch eine Trageschlaufe verkaufen zu wollen, da ist bei der billigsten Digitalkamera solch ein Ding dabei. Nun ja, sei es drum. Aus der Not heraus, das GPS Gerät beim Wandern nicht ständig in der Hand halten zu müssen, oder gar in die Jackentasche zu stecken, wo das Gerät sich den Platz womöglich mit dem Schlüsselbund erstreiten muss, und mit ziemlicher Sicherheit Blessuren am Display davon tragen würde, musste also solch eine Haltemöglichkeit erworben werden. Der Karabiner mit Schlaufe, der ebenfalls von Garmin ist, erschien mir für meine persönlichen Bedürfnisse nicht wirklich sinnvoll, trotz der überwiegend positiven Rezensionen hier bei Amazon. Auch die Rucksackhalterung schien mir keine optimale Lösung zu sein. Und so fiel letzen Endes die Wahl auf diese Schlaufe. Die eigentliche Schnur ist auf jeden Fall üppig dimensioniert, da hätte ich Angst, mich an einem Baum zu verfangen und zu erhängen, so stabil wirkt sie. In dieser Schnur ist eine Kupplung aus Kunststoff, die allerdings fest verschlossen ist. Sieht gut aus und ist jedenfalls besser als ein Seemansknoten. Die dünne Schnur am unteren Ende wird in das Gerät eingefädelt und ist dann so, wie bei den meisten digitalen Kompaktkameras befestigt. Diese Schnur ist im Gegensatz zu der Trageschlaufe geradezu filigran. Die wahrhaftige Bruchfestigkeit dürfte auf jeden Fall hoch genug sein. Die Schnellkupplung aus Kunststoff ist sauber ausgeführt und ist mit einer Hand zu bedienen (dabei mit der anderen Hand das Gerät natürlich festhalten, sonst geht es zu Boden). Wenn das Gerät "angedockt" ist, und die Schlaufe umgehängt ist, dann ist das Gerät knapp über dem Bauchnabel (zumindest bei mir, 182 cm, 85 kg) und gut zu erreichen. Ich finde dieses Teil ungemein praktisch, und für meine Wanderungen, wo ich nur ab und an darauf schaue, ob ich auf dem richtigen Weg bin, ist es geradezu ideal. Über den Preis will ich hier nicht diskutieren, doch ein Empfehlung für diese Trageschlaufe für das GPS Gerät fürs Wandern kann ich hier definitiv aussprechen.
