I was looking for a high power 9 volt supply to power my numerous guitar and bass pedals. The average wall-wart used for guitar pedals only supplies 0.5 amp, and I have easily exceeded this rating with my fairly small collection of pedals. This item has the exact same jack that is used on guitar pedals. The only issue is that the polarity is reversed. If you have the temerity to snip off the jack, then re-connect it with the polarity reversed (requires a soldering iron), you will have a 3 amp power supply that will supply pretty much any number of pedals you will ever acquire. As a bonus, this item is similar to a laptop power supply. Instead of the typical wall-wart where the 9 volt cable tends to fail right where it enters the transformer, this item has a burly IEC cable, as well as an extra heavy duty 9 volt cable. While I recognize that this item was not designed to power guitar pedals, it is superb for this purpose when modified to reverse the polarity.
