Omnigrid Ruler, 2-1/2 x 8-Inch, Clear

My old fabric marking ruler was flimsy and the top layer of plastic was peeling off (unfortunately, that is what had the numbers printed on it...) so I ordered this as a replacement. It is miles above my old one in terms of quality -- much thicker/sturdier/more rigid, and doesn't appear that it would ever have the peeling problem. This is a great size. I have a pattern I am making from which I needed to cut something 18 inches long, and since this is 24 inches long, I can do that easily. I am mostly using black fabric for that project, and you can put this over black fabric and see the lines. But you can *also* put it over light colored fabric and see the lines, since the grid is in two colors. I don't mind that the colors are black and yellow; both are easy enough for me to see (and I don't have great vision). I am a little afraid of rotary cutters so I mostly use this for drawing lines with (washable) fabric marking pencils. But it is rigid enough and thick enough that it should be just fine with a rotary cutter running along next to it. I am of a low enough experience level that I am sticking with squares and rectangles for now, and this is more than sufficient for those purposes. This does not have a non-slip surface (and no rubber feet) so you will have to put some pressure on it while cutting or marking. But it did not slide for me. (It helps to have a stable, flat work surface. Use the dining room table instead of a TV tray, for example.) Anyway, this is miles above what I had before and it is easy to use, so I am happy.

Great and easy to read marks in 1/8 and 1/4 seam markings for sewing/quilting. Ruler itself measures one inch wide so fits perfectly as guide. Raised hash marks for easy tracing and notching

Omnigrid is the best.

This is an excellent product! It's easy to use, works for both right and left hand users, is accurate... my only problem with it, and the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5, is that it was suppose to come with little clear plastic "feet" that prevent it from sliding, and they weren't in the package. And yes, it does slip around on the fabric, so you have to try to lean into it to try to prevent movement when running a circular cutting blade along it. I had some leaf-it finger dots laying around (used on your index finger to make sorting through papers easier) and layered them onto each other to create a non-slip button then stuck it onto the ruler. It does work, just not as well as I'm sure the ones made for the ruler work. As for accuracy, I love the way this is marked, with the dual colors it can be used on any color of fabric, light or dark, and still be seen easily. And it's a nice thickness, which makes it perfect for rotary cutters. A good quality grid style ruler, and I really like using. I'm happy with my purchase!

I saw a YouTube video where the influencer kept this little ruler next to her sewing machine. So I decided to try it and I absolutely love it. It's great for when you have to make small cuts precise small measurements. Because it's so small it doesn't slip and it is a very sturdy material like all Omni grid rulers. Highly recommend.

Malgré de très grandes dimensions qui m'ont un peu fait peur au départ, cette règle s'avère très pratique pour qui effectue de longues coupes ou de longs tracés en patch ou couture à partir de patrons américains en inches. Pour ma part, je ne peux plus m'en passer!

La regla es bastante gruesa y pesada, de buena calidad. Es muy cómoda para utilizarla para cortar sobre todo con cúter. También tiene un sinfín de líneas, para poder ver con comodidad distintos ángulos, no sólo los rectos. A mi me ha resultado muy práctica y cómoda. La recomiendo. La marca Prym es una muy buena marca y de gran calidad. Hay otras, pero yo me he decantado por ésta pues me da más confianza.
