A Far Better Way on Gravel
We used these Myard PNP 153544 Post bases to secure the bottom end of four 4X4 eight foot posts on our Codger Coop hunting blind. We pre-attached them to the bottom of the posts using provided holes and 3" large-head screws. This helped maintain the angled plane of the base as presented by the elevator brackets at the top, and made it easy to adjust the footing after setting the 800lb structure on the gravel base. Adjusting level was easy by lifting (jack) two bases at a time and adding or removing fill as needed. They handled the weight easily - a good value. ~ The Duffian

lightweight alternative
whole lot easier dragging this up under a pre- existing deck or porch than the concrete alternative, does the same job either in a rebuild or new build project, it supports and holds the post.
