Does it require batteries

Yes. They digitized it. Instead of a music box mechanism in the record needle it has four buttons. The lines on the discs change the order that the buttons are pressed and that tells the chip in the unit which song to play. You still have to wind it to make it spin the batteries are just to power the small electronics in it. IMHO This is inferior to the original.

Does this version have a music box type movement in the arm that the original had? Some say it is electronic and not the same.

Alas! It does not have the original music box sound. The new version makes annoying electronic music. I dug out my kids' old 1970's version and rehabed it for my grand kids and gave away the new one to toys for TOTs.

are the songs the same as vintage set? camptown races, london brigde, etc?

The vintage 1970's set has 5 records (1) Hickory Dickory Dock / Edelweiss, (2) Twinkle Twinkle Little Star/ Au Clair De La Lune, (3) London Bridge / Oh Where has My Little Dog Gone,(4) Jack & Jill / Humpty Dumpty, (5) Children's Marching Song / Camptown RacesChildren Marching Song

Is this made from PVC plastic?

It is made of a hard, durable plastic, like the original ones, only made in China, but seems to be good.

Fisher Price toy record player

Bought as a present- took me back as these were about years ago. Good, sturdy build, colourful and easy to use for young children. Comes with discs to play. Good fun, good quality.

Not good

These used to be analog like a music box with little springs. Now it's digital, which completely ruins the experience.

Tutto ok

Arrivato con un giorno di anticipo, imballo integro e prodotto a posto. Era solamente un po’ sporco di olio in un punto, è bastato pulirlo ma ora terrò d’occhio se succederà ancora. Può succedere.
