My Google Chromebook

I ordered this after reading its reviews and it did just what I wanted--served (and still is serving at times) as a quick owner's manual . I read it on my Chromebook using the Kindle app so its readily accessible. Most features of the Chromebook are pretty intuitive once you've used it a little but this book was nice to have initially and is still a good reference.

A very easy read, good for people totally new to computers as well as experienced users new to Chrome OS. Very detailed instructions, well documented, with helpful photos and illustrations. But I do think it is overdue for a third edition update to cover newer model Chromebooks and it would be helpful to give a bit more ink to Chromebox models.

This book fulfilled all my expectations. I bought my Chromebook computer 1-yr. prior to the book, and I was able to motor around my Chromebook pretty good, but I always suspected that there were many more things the Chromebook could do for me. The book was able to fill-in all those blanks for me, and still is! I much prefer having an actual book to refer to rather than tutorials on a computer. I can take the book around with me and read it when I feel like it, it never runs out of battery, and I doubt if anyone will steal it like they would the actual computer. I only wish I would have bought the book with the computer. Oh well!

Read it from cover to cover and it seems that the author was trying to fill out the book some so the there is a lot of repetitive entries. There is a lot of useful information though so it is worth a read for a Chrome OS neophyte.Finally it is centered around the Samsung Chromebook which maybe the largest seller there should be a greater present of the other models so that people can see how their system compares to the Samsung.

This is probably one of the best self help books I've ever bought for computers it's really that good like someone else said it's about the closest thing to an official chrome manual you can buy what to know how to save files in the cloud its there want to view you pictures and videos on your Chromebook it's there to as a matter of fact there's no question I can thank of that wasn't answered in this book. So if you have a computer with this operating system this is the book for you!!

I'm still trying to figure everything out. It's not difficult, I'm just tech challenged and the people I usually have help me aren't familiar with Chromebook. I'm getting it slowly but surely.This book explains everything well and in language I can understand, most of the time. I haven't gotten through the whole thing yet. I'm taking it slow so I can retain everything without going back and rereading. LOL

Michael Miller's Chromebook has quickly oriented me to the use and operation of Chromebook.For nearly three decades I have used Microsoft Windows operating systems. As a retired american I have found that I have greatly reduced computing needs. Surfing the web, paying bills, watching movies, and writing fill my PC requirements. Keeping Windows updated and free of virus and worms has become an annoying expense and hassle.While studying alternatives to Windows OS I came upon Michael Miller's book. The first chapter clearly explains the benefits and drawbacks of the Chromebook as compared to Windows, resulting in a decision to purchase Google Chrome. "My Google Chromebook (2nd Edition)" has continued to help me quickly learn the set up and use. Tricky subjects such as setting up a cloud printing system are clearly conceptualized and explained.Chromebook meets my expectations and retired budget and Miller's book has helped me quickly get up to speed with minimal stress.

I have what is called a Dana AlphaSmart. I explored it to have something less than a laptop, but more than pen and pad. I have found it OK, but as with all PALM systems, there's a need to be careful when it's about to run out of battery energy or just its life force for you're as dead in the water for losing your work--and it has just this little viewer as I had with early electric/digital typewriters trying to make the switch to digital. This one is lovely. I am setting it up now, so pleased by how the book (yes I did purchase an extra guide) helps me do it easily. I still need to meet the point of how it works offline for I spend a lot of time on a commuter bus. But even if that doesn't work out, being able to carry it around the house (so light!) and to other places with Wi-Fi (like my beloved antiquarian bookstore), I can so easily take it and work.

Habe vor Weihnachten das Acer C 710 als Geschenk gekauft und war von dem Chromebook und der Idee, die dahinter steckt, so begeistert, dass ich mir dann auch eins bei Amazon gekauft habe. Das Buch "My Google Chromebook" hat mich aber schwer enttäuscht, denn es ist nur für absolute Computer-Neulinge geeignet. Dem schon etwas versierten User bringt es eigentlich nichts, die meisten Infos kann man im Internet oder über die Hilfe-Funktion des Chromebooks bekommen, wenn man sie denn braucht, denn das Chromebook ist eigentlich selbsterklärend, vorausgesetzt, dass man schon Erfahrung hat. Von daher bekommt es von mir nur einen Stern, zumal es auch absolut überteuert ist. :(

If you have no knowledge on how to use a Chromebook, this is the book for you. I have skills on the Chromebook, and it was good to have as a reference guide to remind me of some of the steps I forgot.

I had arranged to have this delivered at a locker but unfortunately the Co-op has gone bust so the shop is shut. I phoned Amazon and they very kindly arranged to have book delivered the next day with no extra charge - thank you Amazon very much appreciated. Very clear instructions on how to use a Chromebook - would just say one thing though - if you live in an area that does not have super fast broadband do not buy a Chromebook as it won't work for you - Chromebooks are very dependent on fast broadband.
