Davidts Pilot Case + Trolley " The Davidt's Chase " Black

I really don’t like the old fashioned leather pilot cases of old. They’re stuffy and just look terrible. I like trolley cases because a should strap hurts my back if I carry a heavy bag for too long. This nylon case is very good. Plenty of space inside, with pockets inside to segregate a laptop or iPad. The zip up sides are good for rooting through it and getting to hard to reach items. The front pocket is nice. A good size and can fit a clipboard if there’s not much else in there which is ideal. There’s a side pocket too, but I’ve just about squeezed a small umbrella in there. I’d like to keep my high-vis in there too, but it’s just too tight a fit. I’d have liked a bit more space in there. It feels very well made, but what stops it from being 5 stars is the handle on the top. It feels sturdy enough, however when it’s positioned backwards, it catches on the trolley handle stopping the top from opening. You have to move the carry handle forwards, then it can be opened properly. A minor gripe, but I feel as if that should have been tested when it was being designed.

Dopo un anno di intenso utilizzo (900h di volo), il prodotto ha subito alcune deformazioni compatibili con il passare del tempo. Buona la robustezza generale e i materiali utilizzati. Evidente deformazione delle placche in compensato laterali che non consentono più la chiusura corretta della valigetta. La maniglia da traino è decisamente troppo corta e se sei più alto di un metro e sessanta è inevitabile far scontrare le ruote col tallone della scarpa ad ogni passo. Pilotina di medie dimensioni che fa il suo lavoro comunque buona la collocazione degli scomparti.

Der Vorgänger ist bei voller Beladung leicht vorne umgefallen. Das ist bei dem neueren Modell viel besser. Die Verarbeitung ist gut und belastbar. Leider muss man den Deckel auf der Ausziehstangenseite offen halten, sonst fällt er von selber wieder zu.

Habe den Trolley heute erhalten. Auf den ersten Blick macht er einen sehr robusten Eindruck. Leider hat sich die Lieferung auf etwa drei Wochen verzögert. Dafür nahm der Verkäufer jedoch nach einer Woche von sich aus Kontakt mit mir auf um sich für die Verspätung zu entschuldigen, und hat noch ein Portemonnaie als Geschenk mit in die Lieferung gepackt. Was auch nicht selbstverständlich ist. Zusätzlich zum Trolley war noch eine kleine Umhängetasche dabei. Die sich einfach an den Griff hängen lässt und nochmal zusätzlich Platz für weitere Kabel oder Kleinteile bietet. Leider weiß ich nicht, ob diese Tasche nun Standardmäßig dabei ist, oder ob dies ebenfalls auf die verspätete Lieferung zurück zu führen ist. Was meiner Meinung nach ein wenig unglücklich gelöst ist, ist das festlegen der Zahlenkombination zum öffnen des Koffers. Dazu muss der Knopf in Richtung des Schnappers gedrückt werden und das Schloss auf die gewünschte Kombination eingestellt werden. Das Problem daran ist, das das auch im geschlossenen Zustand Funktioniert. Das heißt, wenn man jemanden Ärgern will kann man die Kombination verstellen, und derjenige kann den Koffer nicht mehr öffnen.
