Motor not working
We saved this Gift and sent to grandson for Valentine’s Day. He just opened it and the motor is not working. He loves it but to get a working motor. Is this possible? Thank you! Update: I called customer service and they are sending a new one to me.

awesome gift for builders
my son got this as a gift for his birthday and loves it!. there are 14 different ways to make it with the manual, and I'm sure many more to think up on your own. the fact that its solar powered is awesome. but when its not charged he loves to connect it to a battery. he has made almost all the models and loves the boat model most he will take long baths and play with it. other kids love to see what he's made.

It's a fun little learning project for curious children.
Grandsons really liked it I really enjoyed the part where they all 3 set down to work on it. The 3 year old was good with assembly tiny parts, small fingers. The 2 oldest checked out diagrams and instructions they tinkered and screwed up a couple of times but they figured it out with minimal adult supervision. It's a good bonding and learning toy. I'm getting more of these for my guys.

It's OK for $20. Be ready to be patient and troubleshoot a lot.
I wouldn't pay more than $20 for this (it was 18.99 when I purchased it), but a $10 price point would make more sense. It works ... OK. It took my son (8, obsessed with robots, i knkw its 10 and up) and and I about 2 hours to get the first one working properly. Warning - if you don't have a self starter kid you'll be soong a lot for them (10 and up could be much different than under 10). A lot of the builds are fragile with the pieces barely hanging on. You need to be pretty dexterous for it (we had to abandon our first build we were both so upset and frustrated we had to take a break. When we finally got the first one going I admit it was cool. 2nd Warning - this isn't solar CHARGED in that you charge it in the sun and then it works anywhere. It only works in the sun and does not take batteries (so no cloudy days and here in Phoenix we had a rough time in 100 degree heat). It says it will also go with a 50 watt bulb but we tried every light in the house and none worked (maybe partly because everything is LED these days and doesn't produce enough for this). Overall I wish we spent a bit more money on something better. Feels like a boat load of small plastic parts that are going to get lost pretty quickly. So, yeah, meh.

Perfect gift for a techno kid!
I got it for my 11 y. o. son as a Christmas gift and he loves it. He spent 4 hours last night putting all piece in place and seeing if it works with a battery and now he proved it in the sun and he is so excited it does work with solar energy. He has worked with Arduinos before but I’ve never seen him this excited about a robot. I’m planning to get him another one of this brand if possible for his upcoming birthday.
