I got the MISSION Cooling Bucket Hat to wear outdoors during hot days, and overall it’s a solid piece of gear. The material is light and breathable, and when soaked briefly it gives a noticeable cooling effect that actually helps when you’re out in direct sun. That’s exactly what I was looking for for long yard work sessions and summer hikes. The brim gives decent shade around the face and neck, and it packs down easily for travel or storage. The cooling aspect works as advertised with water activation it’s not fancy tech, just simple evaporative cooling that does make a difference. My only small gripe is the fit isn’t super snug on me. Depending on head shape it can feel a bit loose, but it hasn’t actually blown off yet in a breeze. It’s not a deal‑breaker, just something to be aware of if you prefer a very secure, fitted feel. I bought this hat for roughly $20 and at the same time purchased one of the other Mission brand baseball cap style cooling hats so I have been able to compare both of these hats. This bucket hat isn't huge, and for my big head it is a little on the tighter side but still perfectly comfortable for me. Could be an issue for some though I imagine most people will be fine as I know my head is bigger than average and the fit doesn't bother me. As to the cooling powers of the hat, I mostly use it on hot days when I am lounging in the pool to shade my face and keep me cool as I work on my tan. I dunk it in the water then slap it on my head. The only part of this hat that is going to cool you is the top and the inner rim that goes around your head. So for as much water as this hat soaks up, it really doesn't do much but run off and provide shade like any other hat. It stays cool for what seems a short amount of time but it does help. If you are on the go, I would keep a spray bottle handy so you can keep misting the top and inside every hour or so and get a lot more mileage out of it. Overall, it is a good hat but I feel the ball cap style hat is better for day to day. That one soaks up your sweat better than this one and if you do start to overheat with it on, take it off and it'll cool you down again once you put it back on after a few minutes thanks to the sweat retention. Both benefit from keeping a spray bottle nearby, and I do consider that a must have if you are trying to get these things to cool you down, but if I could pick only one I would go with the cap but luckily the world doesn't work that way so I can use the cap at work and then this bucket hat around the house and pool. This cap is definitely a bigger help in rain as well thanks to the wider brim. While it isn't perfect it is still worth buying just remember to have realistic expectations. An hour of good cooling effect after a good soaking and maybe you can get two hours in shade under ideal conditions. Every person is different too, so that is just my experience. Regardless, it is a worthwhile purchase and I am happy with my Mission hats.

This hat is very practical during the hot summer days, especially at the swimming pool or beach. It is comfortable, it can fold and very lightweight. Great color. Loved it.

I was pleasantly surprised that this hat really does work. My husband's a construction worker and works outside in this heat all day long and I worry about him and sun exposure and heat exhaustion So I figured , let's try it and see if it works Lo and behold, this hat does work!!! It's amazing. It keeps him cool. Keeps the Sun off his head. It's really an amazing product It's very thin, which I was concerned about, but the material works It looks great. He's happy with the camo style and overall, a really great product. Fits his head nicely. Keeps its shape also. Fits in your back pocket lol. I would highly recommend it.

I saw this and thought it was pricey but if it worked on hot summer days it was worth it. I like it has a strap that keeps it from blowing off my head in wind. It is well made and a nice color. I don't really see how it is any different from hats I already have as far as wetting down the band inside...I really didnt notice a difference from my other hats....thus I thought it to be more expensive than it should be.

My kid wears this (and only this!!) type of hat during summer camp each year. He can soak it and stay cool during the day and it also gives plenty of sun protection around his super pale (bless him!) face, ears, neck, etc. He’s been wearing a variation of this hat since he was 5 years old at camp. Once I got a mission brand hat, the others were no longer good enough. He is 17 now and I know I have to find that mission brand hat for camp or we’re going to have to order another one like we did last year, hence the review. It’s Light weight, can add water for cooling, great shade protection. Worth the money!

Great hat for women and men my husband and I wear these on a daily basis great for traveling fit is perfect not to small or to big will fit medium or large head size washes well and drys fast has an adjustable strap it’s breathable very sturdy and great sun protection I bought 3 colors will buy lots more in the future.

説明書通りに、水を含ませて、使用すると、保湿時間が長いので、真夏の散歩やゴルフには良いと思いました。 思ったより小さく帽子やなぁと思ったが、これ以上大きくすると、水分を含ませて使用する関係上、帽子の方が崩れるので、このサイズがベストって理解した。 良い製品です。
