Amazing product
This stuff is amazing. I blued several of my tools completely and did some touch ups. It works in 10-15 seconds (under one minute). The trick is to to clean the surface very well to remove any grease with acetone or alcohol. Also, I got a better result by using a wire brush vs recommended #0 steel wool after bluing. The black coating is basically also a type of rust and it is porous and to prevent regular rusting you need to apply any oil or wax as a rust inhibitors after bluing which will be absorbed and retained by the black coating creating a barrier for regular rust.

Worked great on freshly machined parts
Iโm very pleased with this cold bluing solution. I used it on a tool post nut and handle I machined for my lathe. It took me about 20 mins all together to get the result I was after. Just be patient and burnish as instructed. I was more than pleased with the results after prepping the parts with brake cleaner.

Excellent Product
Very easy to work with and really restored my rifle to new.. Simply remove the rust with a 400 grit emory paper, wipe clean with a cleaner (like alcohol) before applied the bluing Solution, let it then dry for a minute and burnish with a #0 steel wool. Repeat the process if necessary, I applied it 3 times minimum. At end apply CLP mil spec to seal the newly applied area.

I don't like the bottle cap.
I love this stuff. Instantly turns steel black, very black. Steel can have light surface rust and not be perfectly clean and it still works pretty well. The metal can be buffed with steel wool or a brass brush and the black does not come off. A very little goes a long way and this stuff is pretty expensive. I took off a star because the bottle cap has a cardboard circle glued into the top. On the very first day I used this stuff, the cardboard bottle cap gasket was soaking wet and fell out of the cap. You can see where a dot of glue was supposed to be holding this into the plastic cap. This seriously makes no sense. This substance is an acid that eats through various materials including paper and cardboard, so why would they think a cardboard circle in the cap that is going to be in constant contact with acid would stay in place? Now every time I take off the cap, the cardboard falls out and I have to touch this acid soaked gasket and put in back into the cap. I should just throw it away but the manufacturer of the bottle glued it in there for a reason - is the acid now going to leak out or dry up without this?

Much easier to use than I expected, with surprisingly good results
I originally bought this to address some surface rust on a Ruger 10/22 barrel. The barrel wasn't damaged beyond saving, but it had enough rust speckling that I was trying to decide whether it could be restored or if replacement was the better option. I'm glad I tried Oxpho-Blue first. I'll be the first to admit that refinishing metal isn't my strongest DIY skill, so I wasn't expecting professional results. What surprised me most was how forgiving and easy the product was to use. After removing the rust and prepping the surface, I applied roughly six coats. The solution went on evenly, blended well between applications, and gradually built up a finish that looked far better than I expected. The end result wasn't identical to a factory hot-blued finish, but it was close enough that the barrel went from looking neglected to looking presentable again. From a practical standpoint, it completely saved me from having to replace the barrel. A few things I liked: easy application process even color development good results without specialized equipment effective for touch-ups and restoration work affordable compared to replacing parts It's important to keep expectations realistic. Cold bluing is not the same as a factory blued finish, and I wouldn't expect it to match the durability of a professionally applied coating. But that's also not really the point. For me, this product filled the gap between: doing nothing and living with rust replacing an otherwise serviceable part paying for professional refinishing If you have a firearm with light surface rust, worn bluing, or cosmetic damage, this is an inexpensive and surprisingly effective option to try before moving on to more drastic and expensive solutions. In my case, it exceeded expectations and gave new life to a barrel that I was seriously considering replacing.

Works well.
Did its job well for me. When done right will give a proper cold blue finish. Remember to always pour the needed amount out into a separate container when using it in order to not contaminate the main bottle. The lowest price for quality cold blue when I bought it. No complaints.

Bueno, pero necesita varias manos.
Este producto es para pavonar. Es muy bueno en la mayoria de los aceros comerciales. Para obtener un buen acabado hay que dar varias manos: entre 8 y 10.
