Hosa CBT-500 Audio Cable Tester

Great equipment sturdy not too heavy easy to use

I am a Audio Engineer and this cable tester works great for me. One concern though, the package says it will test 75 ohm bnc (video) but nothing about 50 ohm which is what RF audio antennas use. I haven't tried that connector yet. But it's great. I also like that it has USB A and B ports unlike others with only A ports. For me the only missing ports are 1/8, but that's easily rectified with the device's test cables. One other note: the device is a bit large for persons with small hands so if you wish to take it around, get a case.

I'm not sure if I was sent an open box, of b stock but the battery compartment won't stay locked in place. I used some gaff tape to do the job, but it was still a bummer. Other than that it's great. Works as it should.

This tool is fantastic to have around. It works well, but I had to put some tape over the LEDs so they weren't so blinding. Easy fix. I've used this a lot and it's holding up great. Made of good, solid metal.

I've bought a lot of cable testers like this one over the years but this is the best. Tests about any cable you would have on location. Built like a rock. Have 2 I like them so much. Use it in the field and studio to test all cables before we run them. Never leave for a gig without it.

It may not be the heaviest duty, but it's solid, the price is amazing and it's working. Now an important part of my tool kit.

I read the reviews and saw some people mention an issue with the battery holder. It appears as though they may have fixed that issue as a large spring is holding the battery in place inside the holder. As far as testing, this works very well. Individual pin tests for all connection types and separate leads for continuity so I don't need to take out one of my other meters. I'm very happy with this purchase so far.

Goes well beyond what a multimeter can do. Between my computer, stereo and guitar gear, I have a million cables so when something isn't right, this is the first thing I use to confirm connectivity before going any deeper.

The product overall function exactly as you’d expect, and already found a fault in one of my DMX cables. It lost one star because on my unit you have to push exceptionally hard on the battery holder to get it to click back into place. It did come with a battery.

The door that holds the Battery sits very loose and will only activate the device if it is pushed in with your hand. And sometimes just falls out.
