are these strings ' high tension'?

D'Addario says that these strings tension between 11.7 lbs and 16.5 lbs. They elect not to grade the Folk series by tension category. EJ32 offers a light feel, softer treble tones and basses with low attack. If you play acoustic (no amp) you will find this set produces a gentle low volume. If you play using amplification with on board pickup or microphone or a combination of the two, you will find these easier to control without the 'pop' and 'snap' and 'brittle' tones usually associated with amplified nylon strings.

Are these a light gauge/low tension?

I use them on an 1890s parlor guitar that requires low tension on the neck. I like them a lot. On that guitar, it’s all I use. They have a softer sound. So, to answer your question, I would say yes.

Will this set of strings fit on a full size acoustic guitar, perhaps a Yamaha acoustic?

The strings have ball ends so they should fit on any standard steel string guitar. The reason I suggested them to my grandaughter is that they are nylon strings and would probably be easier on her fingers.. rod wilson
