Good
Worked very well, used it for worship tones at my church. Good way for beginners to get into tone! Can also just be used to play audio into a speaker from a device!! Sound quality was good!

Great little tool for practice
It’s the simplest interface you can muster but iv got to have my tone and this delivers I run AmpliTube through it perfect software no latency issues after I run it back into my wife’s amp and it sounds great studio quality. I need to upgrade but it gets me the distortion I crave\m/ portable, time friendly easy to hook in.

Great value. Close to the Irig HD 2 with distorted sounds.
I have been playing guitar with a traditional cheap amp for years. Just dealt with it because I didnt have the money to buy expensive amps and get good tones. Then I found ios, tonebridge, interfaces and sims... Game changer... Let me say, before I tried this, I was convinced that interface tech needed to be powered. Using an analog piece like this to convert signal would just be impossible, would result in either latency or muddied sound... I tried it anyway for portability and trying my iPad with my guitar on tonebridge or garageband for the first time. WOW. I was wrong. This item works much better than expected. Can't believe its only $40 to be honest. Pros: - No latency. This was super surprising to me. - Inexpensive way to get your guitar hooked into an iOS device like an ipad. This unlocks a world of options, amps, and tones (see below). - Sounds fine. With amp sims and aws tools (tonebridge, garageband) you can boost nearly any level/frequency so you can make this piece sound great Cons: -Honestly none. Zero, and I went into this HATING this piece expecting it to fail; it did not. -Could mayyyybe say you wanted a beefier piece, or better tone, but come on, not for $40... Final Impression: If you play traditional guitar and amps and have never tried interfaces and amp sims, this is an eye opening experience, like finding the guitar for the first time all over. Get an ios device, even a $150 ipad, then get this interface (or the irig hd 2, see below). Plug it in and get FREE apps like garageband and Tone bridge, and you will get amps and sounds you NEVER thought possible without thousands of dollars. Note: Also bought the iRig HD 2 to compare. If your sounds have gain/distortion, the difference is actually much more subtle than I expected. The Irig sounds muddier then then HD, but only very slightly. Clean tones there is a more noticeable difference. I went with the Irig HD 2 because I am willing to spend 100$ vs 40$ for any little bit of clarity, but if I was on a tight budget, the Irig 2 would work fine.

Got the job done, but could have been better.
I bought this to use at my church. I use it to be able to live stream from our sound board in the easiest and most cost effective way possible. Pros: It did the job. You just plug it into the phone or whatever you’re using to record. It couldn’t be easier. It’s cheap. Cons: It’s not made for what I was using it for. It only works on apple products. If you have a digital board, look for a digital version of this. It also was hard to determine the volume level on the irig. There are no markings just a dial type thing. (Don’t know what it’s called, sorry.) There’s no way of knowing if it’s peaking until you record and listen after you’re done. That’s not great for live sound. Finally, it has a hard time with hi tones. Our female vocals and our electric guitars would peak long before anything else would. Our circumstances due to Covid were that we wanted to spend as little money as possible to get a livestream of our services. The way I would sound check sound levels ahead of time would be to do one instrument at a time and record onto my phone and listen back to what it recorded. Then we would all play together and listen back to the recording. Every tweak we made required us to do another recording and listen to see if it fixed the problem. It was time consuming and not the best tool for the job, but it worked and we didn’t spend a lot of money. If you have the money to spend, get something else. If not, this will work it will just require more time and patience.

Works great, even if a bit dated in 2024
I bought this to start using virtual effects and amp models in my iPhone, mostly with live performance in mind. The iPhone I'm using for this is an older one, an iPhone 6, and that's one reason I chose the iRig2, since it takes advantage of the 6's 3.5mm headphone jack, leaving the lightning port free for other uses. Also, I love the simplicity of this analog unit, and the price is great. I primarily use Tonestack for my virtual effects, and it pops up a warning with the IRig2 about higher risk of feedback with headphone jack interfaces. Because of this, Tonestack automatically turns on feedback protection for this device, and I've had no issues at all. I'm mostly plugging into this with a simple and inexpensive soundhole pickup mounted in my acoustic guitar. I initially worried about latency, but it hasn't been an issue for me - seems fine for my purposes. Sound quality has been great. I really love this little device. It let me repurpose an old iPhone 6 that was just sitting unused in a drawer, and now I have a very economical virtual guitar setup that's working great for my needs.

Works great for Facebook streaming
Needed a way to stream audio from a sound board with mics and musical instruments running into an older iPad with a headphone jack to stream our church services onto Facebook while leaving the lightning port open for charging. Works likes a charm, also easily fed audio into my iPhone 13 with the iRig TRRS plugged into an Apple lightning connector into the lightning port of the phone.

Basic, reasonably effective but has some drawbacks.
If you want to get your guitar connected to your phone/computer, this will do the job. It also allows you to run the signal on to your amp, clean or processed, effectively letting the apps/software on your phone/Ipad be part of the rig, useful in many ways. With a pair of headphones, you have a small, portable guitar rig that would not have been possible a few years ago. That said, there are some real limitations here. First, the iRig2 comes with all sorts of pushes to register the product, create an account and download the associated Amplitube app. The process should be seamless since they provide QR codes inside the box but these only take you to the website and offer a pretty confusing introduction to the product. You only download free Amplitube from the App store, not their site, and the free version is actually not required to get this working with GarageBand or whatever alternative package you want to use for your guitar sounds. I point that out here so others won't go down the same path unless they want to join the club. Amplitube CS is free and yes, it's worth what you pay for it. It comes with a very limited selection of options and endless prods to upgrade/buy add-ons. If you know you only want one amp sound and to use it for practicing your guitar and recording a few lines, fine. But start to explore the settings and alternatives and you'll find the constant 'this is part of X-pack for another $4.99' msgs irritating. I guess you can put together a decent suite of options fairly cheaply but it requires effort to lock into one product. I gave up and switched to JamUp (similarly limited in the free app but much easier to navigate without hitting the 'buy this' all the time) and now GarageBand - both seem decent. The iRig2 itself is ok but as others note, it can be very noisy. You have to be careful with gain to limit squeals, and while I thought some of this might be just my guitar or cables, I chased it down to the device itself in my set up on a MacAir or iPad. It's particularly the case on some amp choices. Sound quality seems ok on headphones, have not tried it yet with external monitors where I think its limitations might be more obvious. Allegedly this device can be used live (they even provide a little velcro strap for you to attach it to a mic-stand but I've not tried that or seen anyone use it in that way). So, it's a mixed bag. For the $40 price tag, you get to play around with computer-guitar recording and effects, it requires no batteries, and takes up little room or adds practically no weight to the end of your guitar cable. Unless you stand on it, I think you're more likely to misplace it than break it. Not of fan of the company's infrastructure but that's personal, I mention only so others interested in this realize one does not have to use Amplitube or even download it to get a working signal into your computer- there are alternatives and it works fine with Garageband.

Impressed!
Works perfectly, it took me a little to figure out how to use it properly but once I did it's never failed me once during a live stream or during a mix recording via my phone camera.

Vilken pryl!
Ger gitarrspelet hemma en helt ny nivå. Koppla ihop gitarr, padda och lurar och få tillgång till en mängd effekter mm. Ingen förstärkare behövs heller!

Stay informed. Enjoy the product.
I'll get straight to the point. Things to remember before buying this product: 1. This does not work with every android devices. Only Samsung devices support it. You can use other android devices but they all have latency issues. I tried with One Plus 5T. 2. If you have any IOS device (Apple products) then iRig 2 will work like a charm. I tried with new iPad 2017 model. 3. You will need to buy the amps, effects, looper, pedals, etc. once you install the Amplitube app. The free app has only 4 amps, 1 distortion, 1 noise gate, 1 delay, and 1 phaser. If you want a tube screamer then you'll have to buy if from in-app store. I think this is a neat product that allows guitarists to practice and play around with different sounds without have to spend a lot in buying real amps and pedals that are way too expensive to afford.
