They're scissors, they cut stuff. More importantly they cleanly cut the spiderwire 6lb braided line.Most products (Other scissors) will also cut the line by sort of fraying their way through the line as opposed to making a clean cut. A non-clean cut especially with braided line can cause problems when cutting one lure off and trying to tie another, its kind of like trying to thread a needle with frayed thread. It can be done but it's a pain in the ass.These scissors make a clean cut, or as clean as possible with braided line. They also have a nifty protective cap, this is great since all my stuff is in a fabric bag (Tactical thigh bag.) and pointed scissors without a safety cap would be punching holes through the bag all day. The cap come with a little lanyard to keep you from losing it. however the lanyard is a might too short, and sometimes can get in the way.I understand why they did this, as it is a bungee type lanyard and is also used to keep the cap on, however it would have been better to have a longer lanyard, and the cap clip on and hold itself in place without the need of the bungee to do this. 1/4 star off for this, but other than that they are a great addition for a "minimalist tackle box" set up.

Shipped at light speed! Excellent value, quality scissors. I have many uses planned. Blades look like they will last, nice that plastic sheath is tethered so you have it handy. The point tip is narrow so you get a super close cut right up to the very end. The metal file insert on the sheath is a nice bonus for removing burrs. Enclosed was a spiral stretch plastic tether and clip, another bonus. This purchase has been a very positive experience and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the vendor or this product. These are a very nice and compact set of scissors. I have very large hands and my fingers can work these just fine. I really like the attached sheath. you won't lose it this way. these are very sharp and cut the thickest of braid. I have cut 80lb power pro like butter. I have also cut 150lb. flourou leader material very easily. A great little tool for the fisherman

I got this because I did not want to ruin my good thread scissors. I am a beader. Besides using thread when I bead I use Fireline. Using Fireline with your good thread scissors will dull the blade quickly. These scissors a perfect replacement. I like the attached blade cover feature. This makes it good for travel. So if you want to save your good thread scissors, these will do the job.

Very well thought out. These have a sharp tip but have a plastic cover with a leash to the body of the scissors. Cover stays in place. The lanyard is usable though you may prefer a zip line. Comes with an installed split ring for that purpose. Cuts braided line easily and cleanly. I don't know, but would doubt these would hold up in salt water but that's not what I got them for. Overall a good purchase.

He uses these scissors to fix lines that have needed to be cut or repaired while out on guided fishing trips. These scissors fit easily in his pocket and hold up well to lots of use. We have bought him several pairs (not due to poor quality) but because he likes them so much he has even gifted a few pairs to good friends!

Have them clipped to my life jacket with the handy included lanyard. Cuts mono & flouro with ease and as long as you get braid towards the back of the blades and don't try to cut it with just the tips, it cuts the braid well also.

Bought this pair of “fishing” scissors to replace the ones my husband lost. Now he can return the scissors he “borrowed” from my sewing basket! He likes the safety cover as well.May, 2021: These did not hold up well and only had limited use. The blades came apart and the screw will not hold them together now. Very disappointed because the sharpness and size were ideal. :(

I’ve had these a few months.. they cut braid / fluro / mono well.. the cover fell off within a week so I’ve chucked out the lanyard and have just put them in the tackle box for use during setup…the points are too sharp to keep anywhere else.

It cuts well but on the write angle

I have taken these fishing with me 3 times. On the 3rd outing the protective shield broke off and fell in the water. I am not rough on my stuff. I had them less than a week. Now they are too dangerous to wear while wading. The scissors themselves are sharp! They perform great! Too sharp to have hanging on your chest without them being shielded though.Disappointed.

They work well for what they are intended for. I do find they have a wee bit of problem at times cutting braided.
