Useful product
I use the product to clean comic books without damaging the paper and color. Hard to tell how much cleaning it does. But it does remove small debris and does not hurt the paper nor the color.

Don't use in firebox
Purchased this to help clean buildup soot in the firebox as described by other reviewers and the product, but it did not work. It was hard to maneuver in your hands and would barely move against the surface. Possibly because firebox walls are porous ceramic. I will be looking for another homemade scrub recipe, but I'm glad I gave this a try first to make sure before doing that.

See for yourself and plan on painting.
The media could not be loaded. Cool product, takes 90% off.Which in my opinion makes it look worse🤣But it kept soot from bleeding through paint. Two coats of oil based primer and ceiling looks brand new.

Soot off
It's removed the loose soot. But was easier to get primed and painted. Not alot of debris after sponge.

If you are questioning if it will work-DONT!
I have had a worsening soot problem in my apartment , I believe from my pellet stove. It was driving me nuts to see “ghosting” on my ceilings. I tried to clean my walls with vinegar and dish soap which helped but it did not work on my ceiling, which had been painted with flat paint. I took a leap of faith and purchased these sponges, I was optimistic they would pick up the soot and grime. One swipe of the sponge and I was SHOCKED. I was hoping to just spot clean the bad areas but it works so well that I have to clean the whole ceiling lol. Only gripe is that small pieces flake off so wear eye protection if you are a shorty like me looking up at the ceiling.

Useless
Zero effect after 5 solid minutes of rubbing on the candle soot on the wall.

Good for a small area
The sponges work but not on a large surface area. You would need multiple sponge packs to get the job done. I finished one part of our ceiling in a house we are renovating hoping to clean them before I paint. It took two sponges to clean just part of the ceiling, and they had to be washed.
