Los Chileros Corn Husks, 6 Ounce

Used these with my class to teach them about Native American culture. We made corn husk dolls. These were perfect!

My tamales came out great using these husk's! They retained great moisture and were the perfect size! Will definitely be using these husk's again!

Item arrived quickly and in perfect condition. It contained enough husks for 4 dozen tamales. Almost all of them were big enough for tamales, I think i threw away 4 that weren't. Very minimal cleaning was needing (corn silk). I will be buying these again anytime I make tortillas. I will admit the bag scared me at first, it looked very small, but once you separate them and then soak them they really plump up!

Decent when in a pinch but I wish they can in a larger pack.

These are beautiful corn husks, but after reading the other reviews I did read the label which states clearly that they are dusted with sulfur powder. I actually drink sulfur (which is depleted from our soil) as MSM powder. But, it has a stinky scent, so I decided to rinse the husks until I only smelled corn husk scent BEFORE soaking them. Am making tamales tomorrow. The meat is cooked, the sauce is made, the house smells delicious! I can't wait to assemble them tomorrow, and then devour many of them tomorrow night. :)

For a company based out of Duke City, so very disappointed in the quality they sourced for these hojas. Waaaaay too many half-width sheets vs. full ones and far too many with dried black dots of mold on them at the bottom that had to be trimmed. Not to mention the holes, discoloration spots, dirt, silks, and uneven thickness and/or wrinkled ones. Maybe 50% were usable for gift-giving level presentation if I am being generous in the assessment. That's a lot of ugly tamale eating at home and/or discarded waste when packaged in paltry 6-oz allotments. Bueno Foods husks may be too short to be ideal for hojas para tamal but at least their product is comprised of *all* clean, bright, uniform full width sheets with no blemishes like wrinkles/holes/mold with only the barest whiff of sulfur dioxide to them. Not the case with these nowhere-near-premium quality corn husks. And I am not a fan of BF, either, but it's what I had to use for back up when the contents of this bag were so underwhelming I found myself scrambling and find another brand able to arrive by the time needed. Los Chileros: Buy their dried posole with confidence but skip these corn husks.

These worked for making tamales. They softenex quickly in water and rolled well.. However, I will probably purchase a different brand in the future. Several husks were too small to use, there was a lot of corn silk still stuck to the husks and a few even had mold. Seems like poor quality control

Amazing product. Some husks were thinner, but I just double layered them. No excess smell of too many preservatives added, and no mold or discoloration. Came completely dried, just like I'd hoped. Out of 3 brands I purchased through Amazon, these were by far the best.
