Works a charm.
Our original float valve (though instant pot claims their lids are dishwasher safe) started to corrode in the dishwasher, and instant is out of the part, which tells me that it's a common problem piece. This replacement is taller, let me emphasis that point, it is NOT the same length as the piece it replaced, but it WILL WORK. Don't panic, lol. I actually prefer the additional height, it gives a much clearer visual indication of achieving a seal. The part is smooth and well made, the aluminum is anodized and not just painted, and the seals appear to be good silicone, passing all the non destructive tests. I can't tell these seals from the factory ones, which I suppose is a good thing. All in all I'd buy it again, and I'm half tempted to, because I only got one small seal for the valve stem and not two. Not worth taking off a star in my book, but worth mentioning.

Fits 6 qt. Instant Pot Model IP-LUX60-V3 PERFECTLY!!!!
I purchased this set because I needed the "open hole" valve gasket. The image looked exactly like the one I needed and it did fit my 6 qt. Instant Pot Model IP-LUX60-V3 PERFECTLY!!!! I did not need the valve but I replaced it anyways. The valve gasket has an OPEN HOLE in the middle and is NOT a solid piece of Silicone. This is the style that my Instant Pot model needed. I previously had purchased a solid silicone gasket from a different seller, that was described as "fitting" ALL 6 qt Instant Pots, and it did not fit properly. The pressure did not build up and steam kept releasing from valve. Make sure your silicone gasket LOOKS exactly like what you order, don't rely on descriptions that "claim" they fit all 6 qt machines.

Saved my instant potโAt least I thought it did
Iโve got a 5 qt instant pot. Iโve had it awhile and now they are not the most common size. But all of my accessories fit this pot. And a new pot is expensive, so I wanted to save this one. This valve just went out. I used it one evening for dinner and the next night it would not seal. It wasnโt too hard to figure out what happened. I found this part easily. It came quickly. I put it on and it worked. It was a very easy replacement. I appreciate that. Laterโafter the move. So I was moving when I put the valve in. It popped right in, no problem. Just as I wrote earlier. I popped it in, put it in the box, packed it up nice and tightโsafe and soundโฆ. So a couple of months ago, I pull it out to make baked potatoes. Itโs the only way to do potatoes now. The valve is still thereโฆ.andโฆ.the lid wonโt close. There is some sort of flat piece that has to pass over the valve in order for the lid to lock. So, back to the drawing board, so to speak. 1) is my appliance an Instant Potโcheck 2) is my Instant Pot 5 Qt? No. Itโs a 6 Qt. Who knew?! But this valve is supposed to be for a 5 or a 6 QT LUX. So check mark anyway. 3) is my instant Pot a Lux model? It seems to make a difference. Well, the model number is IPโLUX60. I feel safe making the assumption that it is indeed a LUX. Check, check, and check. So I look it up AGAIN on Amazon. It brings up my choices. I pick the most obvious oneโoh look! Thereโs a โYou Purchasedโ banner at the top. Did Amazon send the wrong valve? I ordered it again. Re wives it in the mail today, ANDโฆโฆit doesnโt work!!!! It wonโt seat so that the thingy-thing canโt pass over the top and seal the pot! It also will not pass over the pot if I leave off the silicone gasket dealt that secures it inside the lid. So now what?? Instant Pot, if I have to buy another instant pot, it wonโt be one of yours. Ohhhhhhhhโ-figured it out. This says it fits the LUX 6, then it says it does NOT fit the LUX60โฆ.V3!!!!! Seriously!! You canโt make this up. This valve fits every other instant pot 6QT on the planet except my IPโLUX60โV3. The first rule of appliance making SHOULD BE easily replaced parts. You suck, instant pot.

Good to have back-ups
I like to have my backups in place so I don't have to stop in the middle of making something. I love the pressure buttons and they work well.

Correct size for IP LUX 6 quart
This came without instructions. Here's what I learned from the web. 1) put a finger over the float valve hole on the top (outside) of the lid. That keeps it from falling out too quickly. 2) flip the lid so that you see the bottom (inside) of the lid. 3) locate the white (or stained tan, if it's older) rubber silicone ring that encircles the float pin. 4) remove the old sealing ring, and release your finger from the outside of the lid so that the old float pin will fall out. 5) drop the NEW pin (SMALLER END FIRST) into the float valve's hole on the OUTSIDE of the lid. 6) hold the new pin in place with your finger on the OUTSIDE of the lid, and flip the lid over to the inside. Use the outside finger to push the pin upward toward the inside of the lif. 7) put the NEW seal ring onto the end of the pin. It's a tight fit. 8) verify that the newly replaced pin does not fall out. It works!!

The metal valve stem does not work in the Instant Pot Model IP-LUX60-V2
The metal valve stem does not work in the Instant Pot Model IP-LUX60-V2 - when I installed the valve stem and fitted the silicon seal it fitted fine in the lid of the Instant Pot. However when I went to use the Instant Pot the lid would not turn when I placed it on the main part of the pressure cooker. There is a round metal button on the lid which touches the valve stem (inside the lid) and this would not work correctly with the new valve stem I removed the valve and fitted the new seal on the old valve stem and it worked correctly

Works great!
The float valve in my 6qt Instant Pot Ultra miraculously disappeared, went to buy the part from Instant Pot itself but they don't have it on the site (or reply to their emails) so ordered this one instead. Works just like the original one did and was easy to install. 5 stars, highly recommend.
