Hearing protection, Great sound and voice transmission in one package
These earbuds offer good noise isolation and very good sound quality. I use my Uclear HBC220 headsets on a motorcycle, with a Garmin Zumo 590LM and iPhone for GPS directions, a variety of music inputs and phone communications. These fit easily in my Shoei helmet that also has the speakers installed, so I can choose to use speakers or earbuds depending on what is plugged into the Uclear tranceiver. The earbuds incorporate a microphone in the wires that hang down from the earbuds. I am able to not only hear good music with significantly reduced background noise, but bike-to bike communications and phone calls are clear, without noticeable wind or vehicle noise intruding on conversations. Most calls are clear, but if the microphones are not properly places, people I talk to will complain of some echo. I don't know how the mic picks up clear, noise free voice, but it does. I appreciate not having the boom microphone in front of my mouth where it often interferes in a helmet. Trouble free, comfortable and good sound quality, and these replace the hearing protection earplugs I otherwise wear on the bike.

Better Sound and Noise Isolation
Big improvement in sound and noise isolation over the factory speakers of my UClear HBC200. Music and navigation is clearer. Phone calls can be heard better and people on the other end can hear you better. I took them back out because although the sound is better one of main things I like about the UClear is the fact that I no longer need earbuds. When I get on and off the bike I still have to put them in and pull them out, tuck and untuck the wires and adjust the fitment in my ears. I prefer to just slide the helmet on and go. If I'm planning to be on the bike for any length of time I'll probably put them back in because they do sound markedly better than the factory speakers. How about a speaker upgrade UClear???

so they are completely useless, no sound to the earbuds
Just checked to see when I bought these. It was in March of this year. I ride quit a bit (have put on about 10K miles since buying) and they just didn't last. The insulation became rigid and has cracked/broken on both sides, so they are completely useless, no sound to the earbuds. I'm not even sure what the warranty is, but have never had such a feeble product before. I'll take my business elsewhere, maybe to a brand that doesn't restrict me to it's own connector forcing purchase of an overpriced product that doesn't go the distance. I'm a pretty forgiving consumer, but this has left me quite aggravated.

Great sound - too much wind noise to use the mic when riding with a Beanie... great with full helmet
I ride with a beanie Helmet and the standard UClear speakers just don't work with this style of helmet. I was happy to find the earbuds. These work flawlessly for listening to music and GPS instructions, sounds is loud and audible, also helps with the wind and road noise. We did have issues with communicating with other riders or using the phone, when stopped the mic works great, but when I am riding over 30 MPH even with a windshield we had a hard time communicating, other riders can't hear me at all, I couldn't even communicate with my passenger I can hear them just fine. We messed around with the set up and there was just too much wind noise to hear me. Other riders who used boom mics' or had full face helmets had no issues. I set up the earbuds in my full face helmet and everything worked just fine, no issues hearing other riders or them hearing me. I bought this from the Amazon.ca website.

I recommend this if you have a half helmet
I bought this so I can utilize my U-Clear's in my half helmet. Installation was easy but I worried about the pickup capability of the mic since it is mounted at my forehead. Surprisingly, it works great! I think it works better than the set mounted in my full helmet. It might be because the earpiece of these Long Earbuds goes into the ear versus headphones pads of the original unit. I actually had to turn it down a little because it was too loud and I could not understand my wife when she was talking. It is still hard to understand her sometimes when we are doing 80 mph down the highway, but most of that is because my bike is very loud. My wife has her own bike and we ride every weekend. It is nice to be able to talk to each other when we ride.

Good Sound -- Horrible Quality for Price
I've used the earbuds as an option to the installed speakers. You get much better sound with the earbuds, but the transmission over intercom is MUCH worse with the earbuds compared to the standard speaker arrangement ... no matter how you position the wires with the mics installed. And as the first post noted, the build quality on these is pathetic ... more like $10 drug store earbuds than $60 premium earbuds. the wires are laughably thin, the solder connections inside the earbuds are virtually unprotected, and what appears to be a strain relief or heat shrink around the wire as it enters the earbud ... isn't. the wire moves freely through this. So, with a full face helmets (which Uclear says these work with), you catch the wire or earbud putting the helmet on or taking it off, and it pulls out of the earbud, ruining one side of the set. For $60, Uclear needs to make these robust enough to withstand their intended use, included with a full face helmet. I wouldn't spend the money on these again.

Just what I needed!!
Worked amazing! I put them thru a constant rough ride and beating and they held on amd never stopped working. Even thru rain and getting wet. I just purchased another set of the shorter length! Cuts out enough of the outer noise to be comfortable for long rides but still lets you hear enough (with the volume off) to have a quick conversation with a helmet on.

They work really well for awhile then one stops working

These allow my husband to wear his open face helmet and still communicate with me while I wear my full face helmet. It's great to be able to speak in a normal voice while riding at highway speed.
