Vicki Boutin Pack Stencils, Multi

This is the second set of 3 stencil patterns I've purchased by this company. Each is nicely designed and cut but they both had a very strong and noxious chemical odor right out of the package. Fortunately, this is easily remedied by soaking the stencils in hot soapy ( I used Murphy's Oil Soap) water for a couple of hours. Dry them on a towel, the odor is gone.

I really like these stencils, in face I purchased two different sets. I like the size and the variety. A serious problem however, was the disgusting plastic smell. So bad I couldn’t keep them in the house. I left them outside for 24 hours but it made no difference. Then I soaked them in water with dawn dish detergent and left them outside to dry overnight; they still smelled ( I’m talking give you a headache smell). So I soaked them again for a few hours and let them dry outside and finally they were ok. That’s the reason I gave three stars; I had to do a lot of work before I could use them. Not very good quality control American Crafts.

Great designs and fast shipping

I only wanted one of the stencils, but had to purchase all three since they were a set (I donated the other two to a local charity since I had no use for them). The stencils are on the small size, but I'm sure I will be able to use them for my project anyhow. My only real complaint was they smelled awful. I opened the package inside my home and it stunk the place up for hours; I would suggest opening the package outside and letting them air a bit before bringing them inside.
