Size up.
Great rash gaurd. Runs small size up at least one size. It should be tight but not restrictive. Great material and quality.

Great Rash Guard, But Definitely Size Up
Overall, this is a great rash guard and does exactly what it’s supposed to do. The material feels high quality, offers solid sun protection, and is comfortable for long days on the water. It quickly dries after getting wet, which is great. With that said, the sizing definitely runs tight. I usually wear a medium, but after reading reviews I ordered both a large and an extra large. The large was very tight and felt restrictive, especially around the chest and shoulders. The extra large was the clear winner. It wasn’t loose or baggy at all, but it felt much more comfortable and breathable without that constricted feeling I had in the large. Once I found the right size, I was very happy with it. If you’re between sizes or don’t like a super tight compression fit, I strongly recommend sizing up twice your normal size. For reference I’m 5’7 & 175lbs.

Fits like a "second skin" as designed. Great item but do some research first.
Nice authentic O'Neill Basic Skins L/S Crew Rashguard. I purchased item #3342-262 Fog Blue. There are so many different O'Neill Rashguards on amazon it gets very confusing. Please note that the picture for #3342-262 is NOT correct. Amazon actually pictures item #4339-262 which is the Basic Skins L/S Rash Tee. The #4339 Tee looks more like a long sleeve T-shirt not an actual Rashguard. The actual O'Neill Rashguard I ordered #3342 is their "Basic" low cost item and fits extremely tight as designed. According to O'Neill's website the Baskic Skins Crew is "Form fitting tight layer fits like a second skin" and it sure does! I am 5'8" 165 lbs 33" waist with an athletic build and I ordered a Large. I normally wear a large regular T-shirt. This thing is tight and almost difficult to take on and off but it fits as designed. If you have a belly or doughnut roll, it will show! So if you are self concious about your body, know that every little flaw will show even if you order 1 or 2 sizes larger. This fits like a compression shirt. If you want something a little more forgiving, then maybe order the #4339 Rash Tee instead. I suggest going to O'Neill's website and look at the various Rashguards listed under wetsuits to determine what item you want. Then make sure to scroll down to Technical Details in the Amazon description and match the Style number with O'Neill's actual item number because the pictures on Amazon are not always correct. The #3342-262 I received from Amazon looks exactly like the item pictured on O'Neill's website. The only negative I found as mentioned by another reviewer is the collar has a regular stitch, not a flat stitch. All the other stitches are flat stitches, except for the collar. The material is 86% Polyester and 14% Elastane with 50+ Ultraviolet Protection. Made in China. Enjoy.

Rash Guard is supposed to be tight!
I ordered this shirt (O'Neill Basic Skins L/S Crew) in a size bigger than I wear t-shirts (I normally wear L so I ordered this XL). IT WAS TIGHT (not constricting but tight)!!! I knew this going in to it as I have a very limited surfing experience. I will say it's going to give me an excuse to drop a few el-bees (pounds) before vacation in a month so it looks better on me. Regardless, I'm sure it will help no matter what by keeping the sun off of my white chest when we go swimming. I'm pleased with the length of the sleeves and in the waist; it should cover me just fine. If I order another one, it'll be a S/S and an XXL; just so I have a bit more room since I'm not wearing it under a wet suit. If you are looking for a loose fit like a running shirt, don't buy this; there are plenty of running shirts that offer some SPF protection out there and they will fit much looser that this. Overall, I'm still pleased and I will update this review after I'm back from vacation to see how well it worked in the water. Edit: I got back from vacation and this shirt was amazing!!! I got a nasty sunburn the 2nd day I was there (at the beach) and the following day we went to Typhoon Lagoon. I wore this shirt all day and I got great protection from the sun, it didn't agitate my burn (since it didn't move and rub against my skin) and it looked great. I could still lose a few pounds to get it to look better but I'm glad I went with this size. Just snug enough to not move around and the collar and wrist openings were tight enough to not flap. Every time I got wet, this baby stayed cool even after I got out of the water. I'm really glad I got this and I will be getting a couple more in different colors/sleeve length!

looks good and a great fit
Rash guard works well and size chart seemed good for me. I am 5'10" and 145lbs, the size S fit me well. I used this to SCUBA dive in Florida Keys in July and worked well. It was an 87 degree day and when I got out of water after my two dives and was in the sun (I got the black rash guard), I did not get hot since it was wet and the water was evaporating. I was on the boat and it was moving so there is that. Seems like good material to keep you from getting scratched up if you accidentally bumped against the coral (I did not) but yet it was not too thick or anything like that, I felt I moved very easily. Not sure how easy you could put a wetsuit on over this (will find out some other time) but seems like it would easily slide on over this rash guard with no problem. The rash guard also looks good! (a bonus) All you could want in a rash guard. If you prefer a looser fitting rash guard, I would order a size up. Mine was not too tight but just right for my needs of tight enough to not get tangled or caught on my gear, but not cutting off any circulation, getting red marks ,or anything crazy like that. A good sort of stretchy type of material if that makes sense I would definitely buy this again!

Great Shirt
Really nice shirt. Well made, good materials, good stitching, has a nice smooth feel to the shirt. I really like that it is one of those SPF skin protection shirts. I work outside on my farm a lot, mowing, cutting trees, livestock fence repair, barn painting etc. so, I am sure this is a cool shirt for the beach, or swimming pool, but out here on the ranch, it helps keep me cool while working, but also keeps my skin from getting burned up in the sun, a lot better than having to goober all up with sun lotion all the time on bare arms. I like these so much that I have one in each color. The fit is very tight, this is a compression style shirt. I am 5'11" about 190 pounds and the xxl is a very nice fit, tight but feels really good to wear. Also may be good for police/security work, I wear a nice dry fit polo, w/my town name embroidered on the shirt, I use the Oneill skins shirt as a base layer, and put my bullet proof vest on over top of the Oneill shirt, again shirt actually has a cooling effect to it, as though it takes heat away from the body, very important if you have to wear body armor, if you wear such safety gear, you know how hot that can get, especially in the summer. This is a great shirt, I really like to put it on, similar to another major, major brand, the other major brand I expect has a bigger market share w/this type of shirt, but I must say, the quality of this shirt in my opinion is superior to the other major brand. I do not want to mention the other brand, their product is also very good, but I like this better. Good luck, you cannot go wrong w/this shirt, yes, I do wear it when I go to water parks too, it dries out quickly and looks cool even in the water.

Very high quality, but runs very small. Order one to two times higher.
By far, the Oneil's are the highest qualify long sleeve spf/rash guard shirts sold on Amazon. You can spot the quality immediately in terms of construction and fit. But, they run very small. I wear a large in almost every shirt category. I had to size up twice to an XXL to fit. It is very trim/slim fitting. Order up.

Way too tight even with a size or two larger than you’re used to
Very uncomfortable to wear because it’s very tight. Even when I went two sizes above my size, the shirt was exceedingly tight and very uncomfortable to wear. Needless to say, sizes run very small.
