Great quality and very substantial in weight
First and foremost, this was packaged in three outer boxes and the box that it is sold in with bubble wrap-nothing g was going to damage this in shipping! The piece of marble is beautiful-very little gray color on white and no veining-the bottom has four non skid feet and the person complaining in another review mentioned it needs on in the middle for support but I disagree-the board is thick and low to the countertop so it’s not going to bend with its own weight or working with a roller-I wanted to also mention, when looking for a pastry board like this, make sure it’s solid marble-I purchased one prior to this and it was a marbke veneer over ceramic, like an oversized trivet, and that is far from a solid piece like this-I recommend!

Great high quality marble
Compared this with a similar product at Williams and Sonoma- it was half the price and just as good. Came well packaged and didn’t have any defects. Great for candy making.

I Tried To Like It
It took two tries to get an unbroken board. The board is beautiful though I hope marble is not weaker along the grain. The only problem I have out of the box is how slippery this is on a granite counter top. You'd think they'd use rubber feet. This is my only complaint.Edited after some use: I thought the feet were pegged on or mounted in some sort of more permanent way. Turns out they are just glued on. I probably could have figured it out if I read the reviews more closely. The glue is brittle. One of the feet has been knocked off already. I'm starting to dislike this board the more I use it. At least I know I can now knock off all the feet and find something more appropriate and non-skid. At this point I wouldn't recommend this board. This might be one of those things you need to buy locally.New Edit: This was my first marble board and I was getting less happy with each use. I couldn't stop it from sliding and it I even chipped it a little when it smacked into the granite back splash. I decided to try something different.Based on another review here I purchased a large board from Crate & Barrel. What a difference. I mean what a big difference. The C&B board has six rubber feet that hold in place. Note I said 6. This means there is less pressure in the middle of the board so less chance of it splitting down the middle. The C&B board has a larger surface area. The weight on the rubber feet means the board has not moved no matter how sticky the dough is. The C&B board is larger and almost exactly the same price with shipping factored in.Now I know what a good marble board is and now I know the one here is not good. I don't like giving bad reviews but I gave this board as much of a chance as I could. Check the C&B board out and you will be happier.

Great quality marble board, but I didn't know....
I have been making foods, and taking photos at home. Got this for better presentation for the food I have created. Decent size, and great price. Much cheaper than replacing my counter top. I know the patter on the board is random, since this is an actual natural marble. I was willing to take a chance, luckily I got a decent pattern and light color. After using it for the 1st time, I was caught off guard, there was a stain on it, and I had a tough time to get it off. I couldn't believe it!!! So, I did some digging, then discovered that Marble is not that easy to maintain. You can't put any acid foods on there, and there are pores, so it will get stained. To remove those, you need very specific type of Marble cleaners/wax and etc. I never knew about it before. Now I am very careful about what I put on the board, I try to keep it mostly pastries, and etc. It might be a bit of work to maintain it, but it is a very solid board, very heavy when I received it. Great quality, and feel can last a long time, as long you take good care of it. So, if this is your 1st Marble board, look up how to maintain it, so you won't be surprised.

Beautiful Natural Marble Board, Finished Very Nicely!
I have purchased many of these for use with my audio turntables. These marble boards are spacious enough to accomodate any turntable I have tried to use it with, and the marble provides a very nice stable platform. I mount some special vibration-dampening rubber mounts and remove the original rubber mounts that the board comes with. Packaging is exceptional (I have ordered 10 of these) and I have never received a damaged board. These would make an excellent "shower" gift (new home, wedding, etc), or a great gift for your turntable!!!

Just what I needed
I have these funky slate tiles for my kitchen countertops, which are hideous for rolling out doughs, prepping, etc. This largish slab of stone is exactly what I needed for my principal work area. A joy to clean--no grout/uneven surfaces to deal with! Just spritz a little Clorox Cleanup and wipe! It's hefty enough to inspire my confidence that it won't chip or fracture, and it has low-profile rubber feet which in addition to its weight help it to STAY PUT. My cutting boards no longer slip around--I just dampen the backs a little before setting them down on the stone, and voila--they also stay put. This is really important when I'm slicing, dicing, etc., because my Global knives can cause some serious damage if stuff is slipping and sliding around. This hunk of rock is worth my money all day long!
