Master Shots Vol 2: Shooting Great Dialogue Scenes

Great book! I really like how the scenes are illustrated to help communicate the idea and purpose of each shot. The only thing I dislike is the shape. Odd, I know. But it doesn't compliment a book shelf to have this thing sticking out past the shelves. That aside, the contents within more than make up for an elongated shape. The author explains the emotion and direction of the shot without shoving it down your throat. Quick, easy, and organized if you want to go back and find "that one shot".

I am a photography major moving into video with the advent of HDSLR I have been shooting and editing short films, commercials, music videos with pretty good success. When I got this book and V1 it changed the professionalism of my videos. Made them easier to shoot, light, and edit! I highly recommend both of these books for pro's and entry level film makers!

Loved it! The book is a great primer for generating a shot list, with easy to use visuals and explanations for each shot to develop a look a feel reflective of what's happening in the scene.

If you enjoyed the first master shots you will love this one as well. It is set up the same way the other book is. It shows you different dialogue scenes from movies and breaks down how they did the shots so that you can use them for your own films. It's a lot like photography books that show you how a photographer shot their shots. The chapters include Conflict, Increasing Tension, Power Struggle, Group Conversation, Connecting Characters, Revealing Plot, Walking and Talking, Intense Emotions, Intimacy, Long Distance, and Creative Staging. This is a great companion piece to the other book and it's great to throw in your camera bag to use on set of to get ideas while breaking down your script. This is a great book and I completely recommend getting it.

I have not finished reading this book, I am up to page 96. I can't put this book down, it is a great book and makes you really look att how you use the camera to tell your story. The director can truly control the emotions of the viewers if they know what angles and lens to use at the right time. This is my first time writing a review because I normally just don't have the time, therefore, I keep it short. GREAT! Book your work should get much better after reading this book.

An excellent reference and information source to add to your arsenal. I also had a fantastic customer service experience with a slight defect in my copy and got a replacement right away.

As a working director, this is one of my absolutely favorite series. I suggest reading it... and then having it on set. It's perfect when you need to get new ideas!

I loved Master Shots Volume 1 so when I found that Volume 2 was published, I snatched it right up. Like the original, it doesn't disappoint. The author translates what would otherwise be subjective artistic choices into objective techniques anyone can follow for a polished, professional cinematic result.

Fantastic book and incredibly useful, especially if, like me, you are preparing a dialogue heavy film.

A lire attentivement en revisitant les films cités. Le diable se niche dans les détails, l'impact d'un dialogues aussi : quelques millimètres de la focale de l'objectif, quelques centimètres de niveau du point de vue, quelques mètres de déplacements des acteurs.... Très inspirant !

El Libro esta muy bien, y el contenido es de utilidad, el único inconveniente que le encuentro es que las imágenes son en blanco y negro, y por lo tanto solo te puedes fijar en la composición… por otro lado Christopher Kenworthy ha sacado 3 libros en versión ebook, acompañados de video… solo he visto la versión de prueba que te permite ver un plano de 3 capítulos, y lamentablemente tengo que decir que me decepciono ya que si es un video instructivo no se pueden permitir tener FALLOS DE RACORD DE MIRADA… pero el libro de Master Shots: 2 es una buena compra.

Eu comprei usado em um sebo por querer muito esse livro e estou encantada. O sebo cuidou muito bem dele e a entrega foi feita até mesmo antes da data prevista.
