Will need a little glue if you don't want to take apart the camera.
There are two ways to install this. The proper way is to take apart the front of the camera, remove the broken joystick, and install this one. This way the outside of the joystick will be clamped into the camera and won't go anywhere unless it tears which is probably why you're doing this repair. There are videos on YouTube that show how to do this but it's actually harder than it looks. You'll need a large screwdriver with a very small Phillips bit because these screws will be in tight and will require a lot of torque before they start turning. You'll also need a tweezers or a small screwdriver to disconnect one cable. If you don't want to do this, you can just press the joystick into the white shaft and it will lightly click into place. Of course it will eventually fall off so you'll want to put a very small amount of glue on it before you put it on the camera.

Failed after two months of casual use.
This joystick part is a real chore to replace and having it fall off without having done anything obviously accidental or careless other than using it as expected suggests that materials used to manufacture this part are subpar. Will be looking for an OEM part this time.

got in 4 days earlier than expected. There are no instructions... since i wasn't disassembling the camera body to fit this, I ripped out the old rubber from my missing button and snapped this one onto the joystick pin.... if the rubber had some self adhesive it would at least be splash proof.
