Great Piece for any cook
this piece is practical and very attractive. it is sturdy and can support any size cookbook. I think anyone who loves to cook would enjoy this stand. the design is very pretty. the strings which hold the pages down seem a little flimsy but could easily be replaced if they ever break. I imagine they were used so they wouldn't obscure the view of the page. I have seen other stands with chains but those block part of the recipe so i think the strings on this model are better. It really looks great in my kitchen and I get lots of positive comments on it.

Do not purchase-Does not hold a book. This is JUNK
This is a very small book holder. It can not be tilted so that a book stays on. There is no way to tighten the wing nut enough to keep it from tilting and the book falling off. It is a very bad design It is basicly garbage and should not be sold to anyone for any reason. unless you do not like someone then you should give it to them. Junk. Trash. Big mistake

Sturdy, nice to look at.
A fabulous piece to display my favorite books.

Nice stand
Great wrought iron stand. I didn't give it a five star rating because the bolt that comes with it does not tighten down enough to not move around. My husband put a different screw and bolt and it works great.

I've wanted this for so long, love it
I've wanted this for a couple years, I finally bought it. I only have 2 issues, #1 is that one of the little tassle cords came severed/cut. Probably from friction with the metal. #2 is that I think the adjustable joint at the back could be made a bit better. Overall, it's beautiful and works great for cookbooks, recipe cards, phones, and tablets. It's cast iron so it'll last forever.

Need tools for assembly.
It's OK. Pay attention to deminsions - I think it's a little small. it's hard to tighten the nut that holds the book holder to the base, and you really can't do it by hand or it won't stay - you need pliers and/or ratchets to get it tight enough to stay in place.

Initially disappointed with structure design, difficult assembly
I had a few issues putting the stand together, my Dad had to help me and it took about an hour, but we fixed it so the stand could rotate and actually function properly. We ended up using some of our own hardware parts to make it work. We also had to bend some of the metal to get the hardware to align properly. With all initial issues aside, I love the elegant design - it looks lovely in my kitchen.

Cheap Chinese Junk
Like in the olden days when I got my Christmas presents from Western Auto from the Chinese Junk place, none of the parts matched up! The holes were drilled all cockeyed in the casting part and the gauge didn't match on the stand holder part, being about a half hole too skinny. After we hammered and drilled so there was no meat on the stand holder angle, we got the assembly made and found the holes were also not completely tapped in the casting. The two parts were made a long way away from each other in Szechuan province and in Wihong province, each by the lowest bidder, assembled in Changzhou, and shipped off to America. The kite string to tie the page holder weights is also of low quality and totally unsuitable, but what else would you expect. It's a shame they make these by the thousands, and even a worse shame they sell them by the thousands. I hope the factory has all their assets tied up with Citibank and Bernie Madoff; it couldn't happen to a nicer bunch.

Good sturdy stand
Sturdy stand and come ready assembled,. Holds cook book well and I like the weighted string that keeps page opened up. Kept on side in kitchen as it looks attractive and rustic. Very happy with purchase

Very pleased
Very pleased! The strings were a little short, and one was broken, but we can fix that. The stand itself is great - sturdy, seen as pictured.

Precioso
Saludos amazonicos.
