chenyang SA-106 CY mSATA Mini PCI-E SATA SSD to 2.5 inch IDE 44pin Hard Disk Case Enclosure White for Notebook Laptop

I paired adapter enclosure with the BAITITON MSATA III 128GB SSD for use in a iMac G4, replacing the existing 3.5" hard disk. I ran the Apple OS 9.2 installation disc. Initialized the drive, and partitioned it with no complaints. Installed the OS on a single partition using the entire drive, and the machine boots from it. I've been using it since January daily without any issues so far. -- Update: The original I've been using above still works, and it's now 2 years on and I've purchased another for my Power Mac G4 and it's replaced the 10GB harddisk. For this build I used a Transend 64GB mSATA disk. Very happy to see the same product is sold and not changed. Works perfect with the retro Apple machines.

Bought this to upgrade my geriatric Powerbook G4. Drive fitted into it well and the sturdy case fitted perfectly in the Powerbook's IDE drive space. Makes a huge difference to the performance of my trusty stalwart, which I use only for backing up old camcorder footage and watching the occasional DVD. Good purchase. Happy with it.

Worked fine for ssd upgrade with no problems

I used this to upgrade a 2005 Apple iBook. Perfect solution to install a modern drive in a retro machine. Obviously use to the PATA interface you aren’t going to get the best speeds from the drive but it certainly improves on the speed and more importantly the reliability of the original spinning disc of rust

This Enclosure Adaptor was bought to house an mSATA SSD which will be used as a cloned copy of the SSD in my Laptop. Worked perfectly.

had some problems with a different brand mSATA to IDE enclosure in an iBook G3 but this one worked fine. OS 9 is ridiculously fast and OS X Tiger is actually usable on the iBook. basically any SSD you put in this will be way faster than the IDE bus in most old computers anyway

Did not work - laptop would not even power up! No problem with conventional HD.
