Highly Recommended!
I bought this for my daughter to encourage her love of science. As a quick background, I have an extensive background in optics including years of amateur astronomy and photography. As a result, I know good glass, and I detest cheap optics. To say that I am impressed with this microscope would do a disservice to the word, "impressed". It is very solid, the optics are clear and bright, and it worked 100% out of the box. It's better than the microscopes they have at the local high school, and most importantly, she loves using it so much that we've found her getting up early to use it before school, and this is a kid that doesn't get up early for ANYTHING! I will say that for our uses, the 100x objective was of little use (at least not for now), so I bought an additional 2x objective which lets her use the scope for looking at coins, bills, and other larger objects. You'll need an external light source for this, but that's easily obtained. We'll graduate to the 100x objective eventually, but for now, we're thrilled with the new setup, and you know what? The fact that we could swap objectives is a HUGE benefit that we wouldn't get with a cheaper microscope. If I have anything negative to say, it would be that the box contained no manual. Figuring I could just download it, I went to the website where it told me to find the Customer Information Sheet, which I did. It told me to enter the code, and if there wasn't a code, I probably bought it from Amazon (which I did), and that there would be a code on the box. I entered every damn code I could find and none of them worked. Finally, in a fit of frustration, I entered the model number, and the manual popped right up. Why I have to enter a code to get a manual is beyond me, but hopefully that will help someone else. Honestly, we didn't really need the manual, but it's always nice to have. The light is very bright and can be dimmed with the dial on the side. The controls are very precise and work great. I wish they were metal instead of plastic, but if plastic knobs gets me optics like this for the price I paid, well then plastic knobs it is! Yes, I could have bought this for less elsewhere, but I went through Amazon because if there was a problem, I knew that Amazon would have just swapped it or let me return it with ease. My daughter and I have spent hours together looking at everything we could think of through her microscope. She's excited about science, is thrilled to have a real instrument, and can't wait to use it every day. Who knows? Maybe this will help mold her into a world-renound microbiologist or forensic scientist. As far as I'm concerned, it was money well spent.

Does what its meant to do
I bought this to do fecal exams at home for my goats and well it does the job perfectly. It feels like a very good quality microscope. I was scared it could get easily damaged but it was also packaged really well so that did not become an issue. It also comes with a plastic cover to store it. The light is adjustable, like most microscopes, but the light is so bright I actually had to keep it fairly dim because it would hurt my eyes. The image quality is great however and it brings two pairs of eye pieces and it even brought a small bottle of immersion oil i case you need it. Overall a great purchase and not that expensive compared to other microscopes.

Excellent features and optics for the Money
I don’t know why I waited so long to upgrade microscopes. I was in my early teens when I got my first microscope in a science kit my Dad gave me for Christmas and now, fifty years later, I finally got something that is truly useful. This Amscope B120-c scope is amazing for all the features a pro type scopes provides yet it is so affordable on Amazon. Since I’m retired, I thought I would enjoy the really “small” things in life, literally. All I can say is if you like microscopes or considering one, this is the one for you. I haven’t tried the 100x oil lens yet and probably will purchase the 60x plano later on but everything has exceeded my expectations for quality and clarity of the optics. The Mechanical stage works very smooth and I like the LED light far better than tungsten or halogen. I read all the reviews before purchasing and concluded that the reviewers that have a hard time seeing anything should start by sliding the condenser lens to minimum and adjust the brightness accordingly. As you increase magnification readjust brightness first then the condenser to your liking. I’m a photographer and I prefer higher contrast images and that is what the condenser is for to increase contrast. In my opinion this scope deserves 6-stars.

Great product for the money.
This was a birthday gift for my 13 yr old middle schooler son. He is just fascinated with looking though it at prepared slides, pond water, insects, etc. It is of very good quality. For a beginners though, such as my son and myself, I would’ve loved this product to have had a more detailed guide for its use and its features rather than just a single fold out page of minimal information. Though this did prompt me to aquire a very nice paperback guide book “The World of The Microscope” to give us more insight on microscopes, accessories, and how to’s. This scope is a well built model, and it should last my son through Highschool and beyond. I do recommend it for middle schoolers and up.

Outstanding Microscope!
I don't know why amazon (Amscope?) won't ship this item to a freight forwarder but anyway I ordered from King's Bargains. The item arrived on time and in perfect condition, 5 stars for the seller! As for the microscope itself, Wow!, whay a nice piece of equipment. After I ordered i felt a little discouraged when reading many "experts" opinions telling everyone that you should Only buy microscopes from the "Big Four" (that's Nikon, Olympus, Leica, Zeiss I guess), to stay away from chinese budget microscopes and that you better go and buy a used (and more expensive) microscope from those brands. Well, I couldn't disagree more, this microscope is outstanding, from optics to mechanics, I couldn't be happier with this purchase. I've been a photographer for all my life and have been used very high quality glass, also as a lifetime amateur astronomer who have owned dozens of telescopes I can recognize good optics, and Amscope Delivers! Period! It's very easy to make a darkfield adapter to be paced in the filter holder under the iris/condenser and that alone is just another whole experience, keep in mind that it's not easy at all to change the condenser so I don't plan on getting a true darkfield condenser soon. I expect to get the 20X and 60X Plan very soon and I don't see much use for the 100X oil immersion objective, too much hassle to use and too much magnification, I don really need it.

Great little microscope!
This microscope works great using the 10x eyepieces all the way up to 1000x power, and is fine for identifying bacteria, yeast and similar wee beasties, as well as using lower magnification for larger critters, sectioned plant cells and so forth. Especially for the money, this is a great little microscope. This has all the professional features and is a true scientific instrument warranting proper care and handling. It's a real joy to use. This is actually the second time I have ordered this model of microscope, the first one was ordered directly from Amscope and included the USB camera. The second time, ordering from Amazon, I ordered the version without the camera. Why? Because the included camera has such poor resolution that I get better photos by very carefully positioning my cell phone camera in front of one of the eyepieces. Higher resolution cameras are available, but they are more expensive than the microscope so I just use my cell phone camera. But other than that, this is a fantastic microscope that is suitable for serious work. I do a lot of work with research on soil bacteria, and this works great.

Exceeded Expectations! Until...
I bought this microscope and it has exceeded expectations! Image quality is extremely bright and crisp. I spent hours looking through pond samples, etc. on my first day. New hobby! Hopefully this brings the average up to 4.5, and everyone starts buying this sleeker microscope instead of OMAX. One of my plastic knobs has a tiny little plastic hanging chad, probably from where they injected the plastic at the factory, but I could probably file it off. Also, tiny scratch on the handle. Not enough to subtract from its 5 star rating. Edit: Buy it on eBay from AmScope instead for $154.99! I spoke with two managers at the customer service department, and they were unable to price match or give me a credit on my Amazon account. They told me to return it for a full refund, and so I did. eBay package showed up in about three days too. 6/16/19 Update: [Writing to AmScope on eBay] Hello, I have two issues with my microscope: The condenser knob is loose, and it will slowly fall. This is an extreme bother when trying to use in dark-field. This needs to be tightened. I've been "propping" it up by wedging some support paper underneath it. A more complicated issue--and this is more of a design flaw than a defect--is that the gear bar under the mechanical stage that helps turn the x axis bumps into the condenser lens, even meshing with the grip on the lens cover to unscrew it slowly. This happens when the condenser is all the way up (minus a millimeter or so) for dark-field, and you are looking at the bottom left of the glass slide. Glass slide cover being dead center, when looking at the bottom of the slide and slowly moving to the left, the gear bar will hit the condenser, and you won't be able to move the stage any further right. If you do, the y axis will all of the sudden go forward because the stage is rubbing the condenser, and the stage has nowhere to go. You will be viewing your sample, and as you scroll to the left corner of the slide cover, it will force you up and to the left, making the actual corner impossible to view.

Well made. Good clear focus. Parfocal with a touch of the fine focus.
later I purchased the 20x replacing the useless 100x (oil) as well as a dark field dry 120 condenser. I hope to buy the 60x for an excellent darkfield/brightfield soil biology microscope. I might even pickup the 5x, its tempting. The value for the money to buy this equipment is excellent. The speed of shipping and support is excellent from both Amazon and Amscope. I could not be more pleased.

Quality microscope!
Bought for a grade 11 science student who loves it. Only wish is that there was a 60x zoom but happy with this purchase at this price point. happy it came well packaged and with a cover too.
