Betty Dain Fashionista Reusable Shower Cap, Diva, Lined

These are great shower caps. I wear a L size in hats (ie I have a big head lol) and these caps are generous and fit me well. They are waterproof and since they don't have fabric, they don't get a funky mildew smell. They also have a strong elastic edging that fits tightly so your hair doesn't get wet. From now on, these are the only ones I'm buying.

I will often skip the hair-wash, sometimes to save time in the shower, but mostly because my hair tends to behave a little nicer when it's had a day or two to relax. I'd been using the disposable, 20 for $5 pack of shower caps from Sally Beauty for years (well, using the same one until it managed to get a hole somehow), and for whatever reason recently decided to get a nice, durable, stylish shower cap. I went back and forth between several, and ended up choosing this Betty Dain Fashionista cap because it was Prime, plastic lined, and seemed to be of decent quality. There are several collections of the Betty Dain caps available, and they have different shapes, different features, etc. Some are terry lined, some look bunchier at the top, etc. This review pertains to the **PEVA lined Fashionista collection**. * This shower cap IS quality. It's made of a nice fabric outer, and a thick plastic inner. There aren't any loose threads, weird seams, anything like that. It doesn’t feel flimsy at all, and the plastic inside is sturdy, but not too rigid, sharp, or “crunkly”. It does NOT make that plastic-bag-on-your-head noise when hit by water. * The cap fits really well, even with my hair bunched up underneath it, and is pretty comfortable. For reference, my head is not too large (a size S motorcycle helmet) but I have LOTS of hair (it will touch my lap when I'm sitting) and will stay in place when washing my face, etc. This is very important, the cheapie plastic ones tend to slide around from the weight of the water. * Water that lands on the outside of the cap will bead up and run off. The surface of it was barely wet when I got out of the shower. I didn’t totally douse it while in there, but it definitely gets wet- the cheapies are always full of little water pools that drip all over the floor when I reach for the towel. * The “ring around the forehead” from the elastic is not as prominent as with the cheapie shower caps. This is likely due to the fabric being doubled where the elastic is. There’s still a mark, but it’s WAY less visible and disappears quickly. The elastic area is a cushy and pretty comfy, but the tradeoff is that the thickness of the elastic pushed my ears out a little more than normal. I didn’t deduct a star for this, because I probably wouldn’t’ve noticed had I been wearing contacts, but since my glasses were on at the time I noticed that the ear-space/arm/elastic ratio was a little tight. I can’t see myself needing to replace this cap anytime soon, but as of now I’d definitely purchase another Betty Dain. [...]

Great quality shower cap. The elastic seems very durable and will keep my hair dry on non-shampoo days. The cap is cute too.

Very snug fit! This is good because my hair stays dry, but the downside is a deep indent in my forehead from the elastic. It’s mostly gone by the time I’ve dressed, put makeup on, and left the house, but something to consider. Design is cute and it’s been durable so far.

I didn’t expect to be this impressed by a shower cap, but this one changed my mind. The oversized fit means I can tuck away every strand of hair without a struggle. The elastic stays secure without leaving marks, which is rare for most caps I’ve tried. The PEVA lining is completely waterproof. I’ve used it during quick rinses and long showers, and not a single drop sneaks through. The material feels far sturdier than the thin plastic ones that tear after a few uses. Weeks later, mine still looks brand new. I’ve bought several of these caps and they have never failed me. I have very thick, heavy hair, and this cap holds it all without slipping or letting water in. It works perfectly every time. On top of the function, the flamingo design is fun and stylish. It turns a basic bathroom item into a small luxury. Best shower cap I’ve ever used! It keeps your hair dry never moves through out you're showering.

I recently started giving myself weekly coconut oil hair masks and needed a good way to keep my hair up while the oil works its magic. Once I figured out that a shower cap would be the best way for me to accomplish this, I searched on here because I wanted a good, reusable shower cap that would last me a long time. I came upon the Betty Dain shower cap with the multicolored dots and thought it was so cute at a reasonable price so I ordered it. I've used it a few times already for my hair masks and it works great. I have long blonde hair so it's somewhat thin and doesn't take up a ton of room in the cap but I also pull up my hair in clips before putting the cap on and it fits great! There is even room to spare. The cap is slightly tighter fitting around the edges and it left a red mark across my forehead for a little while but, since I use it at night, it doesn't bother me at all. Some of the coconut oil will drip down my face and neck but that's to be expected from a shower cap so I solved this problem by sticking some paper towel in the part on my forehead so I don't get any oil in my eyes. The cap is also easy enough for me to clean. I just wipe the inside with a paper towel to clean up some of the leftover oil. To top it off, the shower cap is so adorable and incredibly girly with its multicolored dots! Overall, I think this shower cap has been a good purchase for me. I can't comment on using it as a shower cap for keeping your hair dry since I've never used it for that. As long as it holds up for several months, I will be happy with this purchase and would buy it again. This shower cap feels like it's made nicely at a good price and it's very stylish looking so I definitely recommend it if you want a shower cap for hair mask treatments!

Well made and good quality .Lovely pattern. Huge size so ok if you have lots of hair . Postage took an age though so need to be very patient!

Best shower cap I have ever purchased! I reckon it is going to last MUCH longer than other caps I have had.

The shower cap is just like the photograph. This is a big sized double-lined shower cap. It can comfortably cover a large head or someone with long hair. However, the elastic is quite tight and I have to keep shifting it, so that I do not get marks on my forehead. It can be used in the shower too. But I use it to deep condition my hair.
