Honk is the brand-new Best Of compilation album featuring the biggest hits and classic cuts from every Rolling Stones studio album from 1971 to 2016’s Blue & Lonesome. The Deluxe 3CD collects 36 essential Stones’ tracks on the first two discs – including eight Top 10 singles, “Brown Sugar,” “Tumbling Dice,” “Angie,” and much more. The third disc includes 10 live tracks recorded during the band’s more recent sold-out tours and feature guests like Florence Welch, Dave Grohl, Brad Paisley and more. Review: HONK - if you love the Rolling Stones! - Wow - I must say this is one heck of a compilation album! The tracks aren't in chronological order but flow very well together! "Start Me Up" is an excellent choice to start the album out with... and from there the hits just keep on coming - and what's good about it is... the hits are mixed with other, perhaps less well-known tracks to the casual fan! I never got "GRRR!" so I was happy to see both "Doom And Gloom" & "One More Shot" included on this. "Don't Stop" from "Forty Licks" is also here... and I'm digging the cool blues-rock numbers from "Blue & Lonesome"! I wonder why every time the track organizers are picking a song from the "Black & Blue" album it's always "Fool To Cry"? It's an okay song but "Hand Of Fate" & "Crazy Mama" are much better... "Hot Stuff" is always a popular choice from that album too... which, I admit, has grown on me to the point that now I'm finding it fun to listen to! So basically "HONK" is an expanded edition of the "Jump Bank" album - including tracks from 1971 all the way up to 2016. Some ballads, some up-tempo rockers... but all of them ROCK! My only wish is that missing favorites such as "Dead Flowers", "Sweet Virginia", "Hand Of Fate", "Shattered", "Wanna Hold You", "I Go Wild" & "Anybody Seen My Baby" could be included! But, we can't have everything! LOL! For those fans looking for pre-1971 compilations, I recommend "Hot Rocks", "Big Hits - High Tide & Green Grass" & "Through The Past, Darkly - Big Hits Vol. 2", the first disc of "Forty Licks" also has some of the earlier hits! Cool stuff!! =) Review: Nice expansion of "Jump Back" plus some live songs - "Honk" is a great compilation of post-1970 Rolling Stones "hits". Although the one CD "Jump Back" is excellent and covers the same period, this two CD compilation includes everything from "Jump Back", plus many more songs (including the essential "Happy" and "Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo (Heartbreaker)". Value-wise "Jump Back" is the better buy, but for those who want more this is a great choice. Plus it has a 3rd CD of some live versions. Though the Rolling Stones have often been mentioned in the same breath as The Beatles, the Stones for the most part made great "hits" but for casual fans their albums have not had many worthwhile tracks beyond the hits, unlike the nearly-every-album-track-is-worthy Beatles. As such, Rolling Stones compilations are very popular, and due to a label change they are generally divided as "up to 1971" and "1971 and after" (why 1971 is in both periods, I don't know). So a great choice for the early period is "Hot Rocks" and "More Hot Rocks", or "Rolled Gold +" (which includes all of Hot Rocks and much of More Hot Rocks), or possibly the singles collection (which also has the B-sides). Personally I like "Rolled Gold +" with "More Hot Rocks" to cover the early period, but your interest/choice may vary. For the post 1970 period, there's "Jump Back" and this, but I like the fact that "Honk" has "Happy" and "Heartbreaker" and a lot more. There are also the various "Grrr" collections that include both periods, but I find those to be either missing some worthy songs or too expensive. If you want more from the post 1970 period, I would consider the "Some Girls" album to be essential, and the "Tattoo You" and "Steel Wheels" albums to be highly recommended. A lot of people would also add "Exile On Main Street" but personally I consider that album to be wildly overrated, with (to my taste) only "Happy" and "Tumbling Dice" to be essential, both of which are here and on "Jump Back". So is "Honk" perfect, for a post 1970 Rolling Stones compilation? Well there are some weaker songs, especially on CD 2, that were never big hits. And left off are great songs like "She's So Cold", "Shattered", and "Hang Fire" which were all side A singles and pretty big hits. But if you get the albums "Some Girls" and "Tattoo You" as well as the recommended "Steel Wheels", you've got those songs covered except "She's So Cold" (which is from "Emotional Rescue", the album in between Some Girls and Tattoo You).

Does the world need another stones compilation? The Honk 3 CD set proves that they do.
Honk is a strong compilation covering the rolling stones records albums from 1971- 2016. It covers those years nicely. Strong flow of songs makes this a great disc for driving in the car. Yes it is missing the London Records years and the classic songs from the 60's. But that was not the intention of this collection. Disc one and two give a nice retrospective of the rolling stones records years. Disc 3 the bonus disc gives us unreleased live versions for the classic 60's song. It rounds out the collection with 10 live tracks that feature some unique guest appearances by Ed Sheerhan, Florence Welch, Brad Paisley and Dave Grohl. All house in nice 3 cd digipak with a booklet of photos of the stones. Considering you can get the collection for a little over $20 makes this set a worthwhile addition to your CD collection.

Honk if you love the Stones!!
Side one is great. Hit after hit. Side two has some hits and a lot of songs I've never heard of before. I haven't bought a Stones cd since the 80's but still know the hits. But most of these songs on here, I'd never heard of (Like nine songs) And that's not a greatest hits cd to me. Side three was live and that was really good. But due to side two, I was disappointed in this cd and the price I had to pay for it.

Great Compilation. Nice Live Gems, too. Sounds Great.
I have many compilation’s by the Stones. I really like this for the selections, with some not so obvious choices , couple from Blue and Lonesome. Nice sprinkling from later releases than all of the classics. Rain Fall Down, Doom and Gloom.. which really makes it for me. I got the 3 disc set. Excellent versions of Off My Cloud,She’s a Rainbow, Mr. D, Shine A Light. Out of the guest spots I like Brad Paisley on Dead Flowers, best. It sounds great. Blasting it in truck now. Hope Mick is recovering nicely. Looking forward very much to seeing them when he’s up to it.

I loved this as I did not own a Stones greatest hits, or 'best of.' For some, I get that 'how many damn compilations do you need.', however, for me, it's great. Also, enjoyed the bonus live stuff. I was concerned when I saw Ed Sheeran on there, however, I hate to admit it, I enjoyed that version very much. 'Dancing with Mr D' live is probably my favourite of the live ones. Great big sound as well on all the tracks. Sadly though, I will need to buy another of their collections as it did not contain some of their famous numbers. 40 licks it is, then....
