POOR DESIGN of spout w/two fragile hinges holding it together. Silver plated & flakes off at spout.
This juicer does not last due to the poor design on the plastic spout with two supporting fragile hinge springs. We ordered the replacement part for $40.00 and that came broke from Part Select vendor. ZERO quality control apparently. We would NEVER spend $200.00 on this juicer until that spout is redesigned to utilize a sturdier 2 hinge spring that can last more than 6 months. The citris literally disintegrated the silver plating on the spout. Not stylish after that happens, besides it breaking and unusable. Surely, EVERYONE who buys this better get the protection plan or better yet, get a more reliable juicer for the money to begin with. Smeg web site is HORRIFIC to contact and get any support on future design suggestions. The gall of Smeg to charge $200.00 for a defective product literally designed to break down.

Perfect for a gift
I got the Smeg juicer for my best friend's birthday, and we've both been loving it. It's super stylish and makes amazing juice. It's pretty quiet and easy to clean, but yeah, it's a bit pricey and bigger than other juicers. Still, it's a fancy gift.
