Beautiful pictures - great for a unit study on whales

10/10, highly recommend. My son has developed a strong love of whales this past year and this book has made him so happy. We LOVE reading all the fun facts and we LOVE the art work. This is a gorgeous book and I am a fan for life. We also purchased the Tree book because we just loved the artwork and information provided so much.

This is a basic book for students who are beginning their marine science careers or getting to know the individual cetaceans.

What I loved... The size, the beautiful illustrations, the thorough study of the topic of whales. Why I bought it: for my 4-year-old grandson who is interested in whales. Now, I want to keep this excellent book at my house! Any adult would enjoy appreciate and learn... Beautiful. Well done. Excellent quality materials. Easy to read type and hand lettering. 😃❤️

I bought this for my 4 year old grandson. He loves this book. I once caught him in his room singing along with a CD of whale noises. The illustrations are breathtaking, and the way the pictures are integrated with the text is very pleasing. Thank you to Amazon for carrying this book.

Whales by Kelsey Oseid This is a good book for kids who are fascinated by the ocean and whales, and a must for school libraries. Teachers can assign research papers and know their kids will be learning from a kid-friendly book, both from the illustrations and the way the facts are presented. The author/illustrator is careful to keep paragraphs short and concise, she labels animal parts, and her illustrations dominate the pages. Unless kids watch nature shows, they may not be aware of the diverse ways that whales eat, nor that humpback whales work as a team and blow bubbles, creating bubble netting to confuse and surround small fish. Quite clever. Author Oseid has a list of her reference sources at the end, and consulted Maureen Flannery at the California Academy of Sciences. Oseid is concerned about the devastation of many species, and includes a page showing multiple ways on “How to Help Whales.”

I got this for my whale obsessed 3 year old. It has so many pictures of different cetaceans and interesting facts. Although my boy is a little young to read it, he still loves looking through all the pages and have learned some fun facts. It makes a lovely gift for anyone who loves whales.
