SOL Universal Violin Shoulder Rest with 2 Rosin Stones - Adjustable Collapsible Fiddle Pad with Gel Feet for 3/4 and 4/4 Violins

I'm picky and wanted to make sure I would like the new shoulder rest I was in desperate need of for my 4/4 violin. The feature that sold me on the SOL (Sound of Life) shoulder rest was the "gel feet"- I figured they'd "hug" my violin and stay put without ever damaging my instrument or annoying me when putting it on. I was right, and enjoy the feature very much. I'd say this SOL shoulder rest is a quality product, not hard to use for those new to the violin but comfortable and professional enough for adult or pro violinists. I'm so glad I chose this one, instead of another of the many offerings on Amazon. You won't be disappointed with it.

This bundle is very nice! I totally recommend to anyone looking for a shoulder rest and rosin and not have to pay too much. One of the rosin is partly cracked and the other one is perfect. The shoulder rest is really comfortable. Overall, this is a very nice bundle! I bought this for my son that is playing violin for his school orchestra. Can't wait to see how it performs.

I like this violin shoulder rest very much. Once adjusted to the right fit it steadies the violin very well, making playing easy and comfortable with much reduced strain. I used both the position adjustment and height adjustment, on both ends to finally get a good fit and it then goes on and off very easily. The only complaint I have is that the position adjustment is done with a small bolt through one of the 3 position holes. The bolt is not easy to tighten and can get lost if it needs to be taken apart which is the case with my violin case as there is no big enough room for a fitted rest to be stored. One of the support needs to be taken off so it can store under the neck of the violin.

I bought this one and the one listed under Jbll that has reviews for a monitor. They are about the same price however the quality of this one is much higher and this one is more adjustable. Plus, it comes with rosin as a bonus. It also has nice rubber points of contact that enable the shoulder rest to stay on the violin without any concern of falling off. I highly recommend this one.

Update: looks like the product became make-up, this was for the original product which was a violin shoulder rest. I bought this on accident thinking it was a viola shoulder rest, while yes, it does work as a sub. viola shoulder rest it is still disappointing that it's not the right size. This product will likely break quickly due to how I play, (roughly), it's sort of uncomfortable to play with, that's not because it's a violin shoulder rest, but because it's like almost every shoulder rest of this verity, the plastic part pushes into the skin causing an annoying scraping pain, I would just use a cloth on your shoulder to block that but it is still annoying. This is more on me than the company, but just remember this is a VIOLIN shoulder rest, NOT a viola shoulder rest.

This is so awesome!!! I love the way it’s collapsable where you can fit it in your case and I was not expecting it, but it came with 2 more resins. And it fits perfectly and it’s not to expensive which I like about it. If y’all get any shoulder rests or need any, I recommend this.

Bought this for my daughter and it is almost identical to the rest that came packaged with my Fiddlershop Tower Strings outfit. I use mine on a 4/4 and she plays a 3/4, both are comfortable with this rest.

(This shoulder rest is unavailable now but I thought I would still leave a review if it were to pop back up) I bought this shoulder rest two years ago when my long-time Everest shoulder rest fell apart and I needed a new one. I bought this specific shoulder rest because it was the most affordable shoulder rest that had the features I wanted and the look I wanted. Looks can be deceiving though- the pad is as hard as a rock, which is super uncomfortable! The legs were also a big issue for me. The shorter leg is much more loose than the longer leg, so it kept popping out and spinning while I was trying to put the shoulder rest on or take it off my violin. The screws to hold the adjustable legs on a certain position were also super loose. A particularly annoying feature of this shoulder rest is that the shoulder rest can be moved vertically. This can be nice sometimes, but if you had the shoulder rest angled where you like it best, one slight move forward and the shoulder rest's angle changes (I realize this is not the best explanation but if you unfortunately buy this shoulder rest you would understand). Overall, buy a KUN, or an Everest, or anything but this shoulder rest :D
