STANLEY Tool Set, Home/Mechanics, 65 Piece (94-248)

I bought this as a Christmas present for my father to put in his vehicle for emergency use. My father owns hundreds of tools, and I have seen the Stanley brand here and there around the house. So when I found this, I knew it would make a great Christmas gift. It includes a tape measure, a hammer, a screwdriver, and leveler, a box cutter, and many more tools to use, It comes with a plastic carrying case which would look like it would wear down after so many uses. It's currently tight to take out and place tools back in so we will have to see how long it would last. Overall, it has many of the necessary tools that you would need, especially the different types of bits for the Drive Bit holder. The tools look extremely well made and look like tools that will last a long time since steel is usually a good material to use.. I am glad I made this purchase and would consider buying my own tool kit of the exact kind. I have read the older reviews stating how it had a screw in the actual case to prevent it from being opened. The company has read the reviews because the product I received had a small zip tie instead of the screw. If anything faulty happens down the line, I will update my review. I got this to use while I'm in college because it's easy to transport when I move and has the essential items. It is a very versatile kit of good quality, especially for the price. The tools take a little more care to put in the case in a way that prevents them from falling out (have to press hard to get them to snap in securely), but once I did, everything stayed in place. Some of the screw driver heads are a little tight and I would have preferred them to be easier to remove from the screwdriver handle, but they still do the job. The flathead and Phillips screw drivers are magnetic, the individual removable heads are not. I used it to assemble a dresser and it worked very well. This is an excellent, simple toolset to have on-hand for simple projects. The tools are plenty durable and are more than adequate for my needs. I find it very convenient to have a carrying case for the items in this kit, notably the hammer, tape measure, pliers, wrench, level and knife. I could have purchased all of these tools separately, but then I would have been forced to throw them all in a drawer somewhere. The case makes it much easier to find exactly what I need, and to NOT lose the tools after a few weeks. If something goes missing, then I know exactly what to look for and don't give up until I find it! This reason alone makes the utility of the carrying case priceless. Highly recommended!

It’s okay - make sure you know what you need and that this has everything you might want. It didn’t quite fit our needs but we went with it anyway. The tools are good quality but everything always falls out of the case. Good value for the money and gets you a basic toolset.

What I love most about this kit is that is=t comes with two of the most commonly used screwdrivers (flat and Philips), where you don't need to add a tip to the handle. I use these two the most, but when I need a different size, I still have those available to me. It's a complete set, so after more than 5 years, everything that I have ever needed was already in the kit. The only negative is that sometimes it's hard to snap the hex keys or the bits into place. I might put them in the correct location but when I open up the kit the next time, sometimes they are floating around in the case (not the individual pieces, but as a group). It's a minor nuisance and not worth subtracting a star.

Great starter kit for my daughters new apartment, has about everything you will need, couldn't find a less expensive & complete kit at the big box stores.

I bought this tool set in 2016 and I still use it all the time. The quality is excellent. It’s the last tool set you’ll ever have to buy.

Over the years, I've always tried to keep a small toolbox handy in the house, and I'll keep a selection of tools there for basic needs. The problem is this - over time tools tend to get lost or dispersed around the house, at least they do if we aren't diligent in returning them to the toolbox after use. Tools end up in drawers in the kitchen or elsewhere in the house or garage or tool shed, and then when the time comes and we need a screwdriver, it's not where we think it should be. This reasonably priced took kit is one solution to that problem. It includes most of the commonly used tools for many household needs, they all fit into the tool kit in an organized way, and since each tool has a pre-determined place, if you neglect returning the tool after use, it's immediately obvious. I particularly like that this includes a small level, always handy especially when moving or adjusting clothes washer and dryer or other appliances. It's not everything that I like to keep on hand - I also keep at least one Vise-Grip Locking Pliers handy, as well as a medium sized Crescent Wrench and probably also a Channellock Plier . I've also purchased several sets like this Craftsman Slotted Phillips Screwdriver Set, 8 Piece over the years from Sears, with various combinations of screwdrivers that are always handy. Which is to say that there isn't any tool kit that will satisfy all needs, but this particular one is a nice starting point.

Does the job perfectly for a normal household! It is great to be able to go to one box for everything (except for an electrical drill - you have to acquire one separately ).

For the price ? This is a no brainer. Excellent set of tools, in a nice storage format. The only tool that felt of lesser quality was the box cutter. Mine broke rather quickly, granted I wasn't particularly gentle with it. But I wasn't even upset, this is still an excellent set. Every other tool in this feels like really good quality.

Great deal for the price. Quality, durable tools. I've used nearly every tool already in 2 weeks of fixing up my new apartment. I wish the multi-head screwdriver was as comfortable to use as the two larger fixed ones with the rubber grip which are super comfortable. The only thing it's missing for me are smaller electronics-sized screwdrivers and an adjustable wrench and I'll probably never need the socket set.
