NOT A SEATBELT
I use mine far higher up on my chest. I guess I use it for what it actually is, which is not a seatbelt. This should definitely only be used by someone who is able to fasten or unfasten it themselves, or has someone with them all of the time. This is not one of those set and forget items. That's how patients strangle to death. As both a nurse and an incomplete quadriplegic, I can see how this can be very very useful. In fact I use mine pretty frequently to help me sit up better. Again this is not a seatbelt. It is a chest strap. If you don't know what a chest strap is, do not purchase this item, because you could wind up hurting someone really bad or killing them. As someone who actually knows what it is and how to use it, I found that it has helped with postural support as it is supposed to. It is a bit wide for me, but I really just bought it for days when my other one is in the wash or my upper body harness is in the wash. I fish and hunt, so sometimes they're both in the wash at the same time, and this one makes a quick and easy go to for a relatively small amount of money. Again, as a nurse, I cannot say enough that this is not a seatbelt and it is not something that you would want to use on someone who has dementia or other cognitive issues who is unable to tell you if they're unable to breathe properly because of it or could possibly slide under it. It is a positioning device, not a safety restraint. it's not something you're going to safely use to help someone remember to stay in their wheelchair or bed. I know it seems advertised like that, but that is considered an unsafe use of this item for a very good reason. There have been many many many cases of people who are unable to position themselves appropriately and unable to let someone know if they cannot breathe properly strangling in these apparatuses. But for a cognitively intact person, this works very well. if I want to get super fancy about it, I've cut little holes under my armpit where it would naturally come out in all of my shirts so that I don't have a huge belt across my chest. I already drawing up attention, that's not another thing I want to be renowned for LOL. I do use it in a professional situation with very few people even noticing that it is there by doing that.

Comfortable and the clip is strong but easy to use
This wheelchair seat safety belt works great! The band is wide in the front and flexible and soft. It cleans up easily. The belt goes around the chair with ease and the large plastic buckle closes and opens easily. It stays shut, it will not pop open. We are super pleased with the quality and would easily recommend it to anyone with this need.

Well constructed and easy to use provides excellent support
I bought this for my mother who is bedridden, but is moved to a wheel chair on a daily basis for feeding and exercise. The extra large buckle makes the belt easy to use and its wide size and durable construction gives some extra support for the person in the wheel chair to hold their body up. We all appreciated the comfort and the security that this belt provides

Make sure the person can tell you they are slipping
This was bought for my mother with dementia to keep her in her wheelchair a little better. I wouldn't use this if the person isn't totally aware of their surroundings and make sure they have good upper body control along with being able to making their needs known so they can tell you if they start to slip. The product seemed ok just not a good fit for us.

Great aid device
My brother cannot hold himself up in the chair anymore, so I put this on him to help him sit with us and participate in activities. I tell him it is a seatbelt and he does not mind it at all. You can make it as tight as you want but not too tight. It is easy to put on and off and doesn't seem to bother him a bit. It's been a godsend to keep him functioning as normal as possible.

You never know...
This is a good thing to have if someone is pushing the wheelchair. Without it if the wheel hits an obstruction poor granny will go flying. Learned this the hard way. Luckily grandma is okay. Thanks for asking.
