Rope King SBP-58140R Solid Braided Poly Rope - Red - 5/8 inch x 140 feet

It is red, long, right size, wonderful, magnificent, Oh my it is great. I just can't really live without it.

I had ordered this 2 x's before and rope was great. This last time it was not a solid braid, it has a core in the middle and does not last as long. From March to now i already need to replace whereas before it lasted over a year.

This rope is a bit more of a lighter red than it appears in the picture, and it is very shiny.For my purposes, I use the rope decoratively in my home, so those characteristics are desirable to me. The rope itself is very soft and feels good on the skin. 5/8" is somewhat thick, so making small, tight knots can be an issue. The rope appears to be fairly strong, easily supporting a couple hundred pounds.Along the 140 foot length of the rope, I noticed only two places where the braid seemed to 'skip' a bit, but overall, the build quality is good. The core is solid nylon.

I didn't buy this for anything heavy-duty. I can't say this rope would be qualified.I needed thick rope to wrap low pipes that someone could hit their head on. I cover them in foam and then wrap the rope around. With this rope you can use shorter lengths and fuse them together by taking a lighter to the ends and letting them melt into one.The color is not accurate. It's more orange-red than maroon and quite shiny.

Not the highest quality I have seen, there are many loose threads and extra fibers for a braided rope. If that doesn't have an effect on how you are going to use it, it is a great product for the price. I would have paid 4 times as much at the local hardware store and it works just fine for my needs.

Supple. Handles well. Holds knots. Easy to fuse cut ends to eliminate fraying. Fading some after a month or so outside (inland) in the winter weather, but no sign of deterioration or even loss of flexibility. Is doing the job I need it to do.

Although the rope seems to be good strong rope, it has already faded away to pink in the sun!
