They pitch you about the limescale wiping away but they never mention the tap water tasting better too but it definitely does. It's not like softened water but it feels softer even though it's not. Weird, but it works and you don't need a complex installation to avoid your boiler like with water softeners plus it doesn't replace the calcium with sodium like the softeners which where I am (St Albans) would mean adding an extra 1.4g of sodium to your diet a day (in 8 cups). If you don't mind the complex installation or sodium then a water softener is better (no limescale at all, not just easy to clean magic limescale), but if you do then this is a good option.

We had a direct hot water cylinder fitted and added this Limetron 15mm. First in kitchen the cold was cloudy and a large thick substance came out of the hot tap. Now a month later the cold seems much cleaner and the hot seems OK. The shower does leave a film on the s creen but nowhere near as bad as before.

My heating engineer told me about this device and said it wasn't perfect but it's the best thing to buy if you don't want to fit a water softener and you can drink the water straight from the tap. You will still need to descale the kettle but it'll only take a couple of minutes once a month as the limescale can almost be wiped away. It's noticeable in the shower too - no hard build up just a simple wipe - I always finish off with a few squirts of shower cleaner and leave to dry YES, I would recommend this product. Update: Only 2 years on and the kettle is scaling again after only a few days of use. Quite expensive for only two years use. Would not buy again
