Yes.  I ran #4 AWG wire from my roof combiner box down to the Midnite solar breaker, and from there to the controller.  I recommend to coat the ends in dielectric gel to get a good connection.

It depends on your solar panels, if they are negative ground, then put the breakers on positive side...and if it is a positive  ground system, then on the negative.  Also if this is the main breaker in a combining box (60Amp) then they typically use a dual pole breaker, and break both legs.

Five panels in series at 38volt each, strings out to be 190 volts combined.
These breakers are 150 volt DC.
So even the 15 amp or 30 amp, would be the same 150vdc rating.
Only the Amp rating differs.   You have a 60 amp rating here, and it will still limit you to 150volts DC….
Also, you need to follow the solar panels rating which limit how many can go in series before too much voltage is stacked into the solar panel wires. Even parallel linking would still reach amp limits for the system.   
Solar panels should show info for “max system voltage” and “max series fuse(breaker)”….
Also the charge controller will have a voltage and amp limit/rating.
My charge controller is limited to 150 volt dc, just like these breakers i use with the system.   
And to be safe, i link in series my panels to 120volt DC max….
I link 3 in series to 120vdc total, then into a 15 amp breaker because the panels are only 10amp max and  3 or 4 or 5 in series will still only be 10amp max.   
Because the voltage is what multiplies and the breaker must match the voltage.
Also 25amp is the listed “max series fuse(breaker)” rating for my panels.  No need 60amp breaker in any safe series scenario.

You do not need a 60 amp.   A 15 amp would do,  
But you will need two of those breakers if you have 5 panels.  Even number of panels is always the way to go.  Get a 6th panel if you charge controller is rated for 1500 watt or more input.
I have six solar panels, each 325 watt and around 10 amp max.
I link three in series for 120vdc to a 15 amp breaker which takes 150vdc max.
Then i make a second string of three panels in series to a second 15 amp breaker, and both breakers in the same breaker box. But the breaker box is a combiner configuration.  Combiner box combines the output of several strings of panels from their breakers as parallel combined breaker output to the charge controller.
So voltage comes into the box at 120vdc to a breaker and then combines other strings of panels and their breaker function in parallel, and stays at 120vdc going out of the box to the Charge controller at a higher amp that the charge controller must also be rated for..
Charge controller has to be rated for 120-150vdc input, in your case and i recommend 150vdc for a 120vdc string.   It reduces chances of overload shutdown, when you make head room to spare at your input capacity.

Don’t play around with this stuff if you don’t know how to manage your power flow safely.   You could spend all this money on solar and end up burning the solar system down with the house.
