Blazing Fast, Massive Capacity Drive for Everyday Use
Blazing Fast, Massive Capacity Drive for Everyday Use I’ve been running the TEAMGROUP MS30 2TB M.2 SATA SSD in my desktop for a few weeks now, and it’s been a big step up from the older mechanical drive it replaced. Right out of the box, installation was easy—just slide it into the M.2 slot and the system picked it up without any issues. It’s not NVMe, but for a SATA III drive, it pushes impressive speeds. File transfers are quick, boot times are nearly instant, and everyday applications open with no lag. The 2TB capacity is generous and feels like the sweet spot for a main drive if you want a mix of speed and storage without juggling multiple smaller drives. The built-in SLC caching does a good job at keeping performance smooth even when moving large media files. In daily use—whether loading games, working with photos, or general multitasking—the drive feels consistent and reliable. Keep in mind this is still a SATA-based SSD, so it won’t match the blazing speeds of PCIe NVMe drives. If you’re moving from NVMe, you may notice the difference. But if you’re upgrading from an HDD or older SATA SSD, this will feel like night and day. Also, check that your system supports M.2 SATA (not just M.2 NVMe), as compatibility can trip up some users. Bottom line: A rock-solid 2TB SATA M.2 SSD with fast performance, smooth caching, and plenty of room for everyday workloads—ideal for breathing new life into a laptop or desktop without overspending.

Blazing-Fast 1TB M.2 SATA SSD with SLC Cache: Perfect Value for Speed Seekers
I’ve been thoroughly impressed with the TEAMGROUP MS30 1 TB M.2 SATA SSD. With near-max SATA III speeds and a helpful SLC cache, it offers remarkable value for storage and performance. Although it’s DRAM-less and not as fast as NVMe drives, it delivers consistent real-world usability that feels premium. The drive’s endurance and feature set, including TRIM and wear-leveling, add layers of reliability that many competing drives don’t match in this price range. This is a stellar option if you want a fast, spacious, and affordable boot or storage SSD for laptops or desktop builds that use SATA-based M.2 slots. Solid performance, impressive value all without breaking the bank. I used this in a 2012 MacBook Air with the Sintech adapter and it worked perfectly.

Decent for price
well, I got a 256 stick. It writes at about 150MB/s. Which is twice as fast as 7200 rpm HDD 80MB/s, and about much faster then a SD-card 12MB/s. SPEED is not a Product CON, as advertised its SATA III. Which is capped at write speeds accordingly. This product will peak at that speed as desired. QUALITY: no issues so far, with recognizing the drive or lost data. (haven't used it long enough to experience this.) further notes: SPEED Recommendation: SATA III speed; Pales in comparison to GEN 3 or GEN 4 M.2 SSD (internal write speeds of 1000MB, and a proper external adapter will write speeds of 300MBs capped only by the actual 3.1 speeds). Compatibility: Recommend Formatting this card as MBR with EXFAT for maximum compatibility. (android, linux, chromeOS, other windows OS, FUTURE Windows OS versions, VM, etc...) I personally Only use GPT and NTFS if the drive will be over more then 1 Terrabyte. Many reasons, lost data and drive recognition one of them, Sata Drivers, Etc... WHY? Because I use this with USB adapters. And drive cloners. WHY USB adapters? I have found that with Windows 11, If I install this internally, then 'initiate' and 'format'. And later Need to move this to another machine for any reason!...It won't work. The data will be there, but recovery tools are needed, successful recovery failed once and I actually had to FIX the Laptop to get the data back. It's simply Not swappable with another machine if Initiated with a motherboard slot. Even an Identical Machine and Model.

Ok value for M.2 SSD
I see lots of negative reviews here about the performance and DOA out of the box 256GB and 512GB models that this review section is linked to. I think most of them are due to people assuming that this is an NVMe drive because of its M.2 form factor. It's NOT NVMe. It's SATA based SSD, just like a 2.5" SSD but in a M.2 form. It will not perform even a 1/4 of of the speed of NVMe drives. It does not use PCIe lanes, but instead uses SATA standards over the M.2 interface. Many motherboards do not have the ability to run SATA M.2 in their M.2 slots and most require the user to disable NVMe and enable SATA in the BIOS for the M.2 slot for the drive to function. I think that would solve most of the problems reported here. I wouldn't recommend this drive for a traditional desktop machine as a main/boot drive. I bought it for use with a raspberry pi 4 and it simply won't stress this little drive out the way a Windows/Linux desktop will. The price is a bit high, but finding 512GB SSD or larger, in M.2 form factor is difficult and there is little demand. Almost everybody wants NVMe for speed reasons. Since the pi 4 doesn't have and PCIe lanes, you have to use SSD over USB 3 to get greater speeds than the on board microSD. For those reasons, this little drive is of good value and for older motherboards and tablets made about a decade ago that have M.2 but not NVMe, it can be of use. With that in mind, I can say this is worth it for the right conditions. Just remember that this is NOT an NVMe drive, and it will NOT perform as such and you will need to enable SATA over M.2 in most desktops in the BIOS, otherwise the system will fail to detect it.

Is their warranty worth compromising sensitive data?
I bought this SSD about almost 9 months ago. As of a few days ago, it would no longer be recognized at boot up - I get the "Hard disk (3F0)" error. The SSD failed ALL possible diagnostic tests and it cannot be detected even after inserting it into an external SSD enclosure and plugging it into the USB port of another computer. The SSD came with a 3-year warranty so I contacted TEAMGROUP for a replacement. They responded that I should send it (at my expense) back to them for repair. I explained that I couldn't do that because the SSD contains very sensitive financial and health information. I offered, instead, to send to them a date-stamped video showing the intact (undamaged) SSD, and then the process of me drilling holes through it in order to destroy the data that I could not wipe because no longer accessible. They refused the offer and insisted that I send it back undamaged with the assurance that "our technicians do not access or copy any personal files stored on the drive." Of course, on their website they also say that "TEAMGROUP is not obligated to compensate for... stored data." I cannot risk compromising the safety of the data so this warranty is worthless to me and I'll eat the cost of this dud that died such an untimely death. I just ordered a Crucial SSD replacement and I'll stay away from TEAMGROUP in the future not only because of the questionable quality of their product but, most importantly, for their insensitivity and cavalier attitude about data safety and security.
